I am a wonderful student and work really hard for my grades, but when it comes to Hemmye, you better think again. Definitely made me feel like I should give up. I tried to discuss my grades with her but she just doesn't budge on anything. Her assignments are also really unclear. She's very rude and thinks she's an English God, but is far from it.

Excellent instructor. If you like to play on your cell phone during class and not do your homework, she is not the professor for you. If you want to learn, I HIGHLY urge you to take Dr. Hemmye. She will look at your paper before it is due and correct it and then you can make the corrections and turn it in afterwards.

I am 51 years old and always wanted to go to college. I had no confidence that I would be able to do this after all the years of being out of school. Dr. Hemmye meet with me and put my fears to rest. Her door is always open for her students and she makes herself available any time you need her. She cares about her students. The best teacher!

She is very high and mighty of her opinion. English teachers need to remember that everyone has different ideas and opinions. Everyone takes away different feelings, ideas etc from readings. Nitpicking to the extreme

RUDE PERSON SHE IS. Very arrogant and unapproachable. Took online and was three times the work load of any other online course i have ever taken. Accidentaly submitted the wrong assignment in the wrong bix, and instead of understanding it was an honest mistake, the highest grade whe would give me was a 50% when the correct assignment was submitted.

Very helpful. I really liked the Hemmye. Class was well organized and was very informative. If you had any questions she was quick to respond and helpful. There are 4 posts each week which are from reading assignment. I enjoyed the online class. I would recommend Hemmye to anyone.

Took this online. The class itself isn't difficult, but there's quite a bit going on - twice a week discussion questions, four group projects, three essays, and one research paper. My main gripe is how difficult she grades. She nitpicks like crazy; I've never seen anything like it. Because of that, I can't recommend her class.

I read through some of the comments regarding Dr. Hemmye and was surprised to see so many negative comments. She was very helpful to me, even when I knew I was going to miss class because I was going to be out of town. Very caring, loves her job and enjoys her subject. I would recommend her, as long as you do the work. Tests were simple.

wow, i wouldnt have taken her if i had read all the comments. but as it turns out i didnt have a chance to rate her before classes started. turned out for the better. i explained (w/o attitude) my situation and she had heart and work'd with me. never once did she blame me, i would def take here again!

Ienjoy english, but i hated taking her class. I'm not sure if her class is better on campus, but it's terrible online. A lot of work, and pointless required discussions. I would not recommend this class to anyone.

Took Comp2 online. Hemmye is hard with her grading, sometimes counting things wrong that aren't pertinent, so to speak. She's very helpful if she sees you care and want to do good in the class and are trying. If you can take it in class, I suggest doing so over taking her online class.

There is a lot of work in this class!! Above the normal. She is EXTREME with her grading, even to the point of being ridiculous at times!! Take someone elese if possible. Trust me, I am a good student who puts a lot of time into my work....RUN from this one.

Loved her! If she writes something on the board then it's going to be on the test and she even tells you that so take notes of it. If you ask for help she will without question. Attendance is a MUST she even showed up for class sick herself a couple of times. Don't make a habit of being late either! Do the work and you'll be fine.

Took online compII. Anytime anyone asked a question she would just say refer to syllabus or emails. Never came straight out and answered questions. Workload is more than most classes. Every other week you have a group project. Better hope your team pitches in or you get screwed. Essays were graded very difficult. very hard to please imo.

At first I wasn't sure about having group projects online, it did, however work out just fine. This class was enjoyable and helpful.
