I was fortunate to have her as one of my first professors in my college career. She knows her stuff and her test aren't bad as long you study for it, and lite studying is all that necessary.

Comment:

Words cannot even explain how much I love this class, she really knows how to bring history to life. I also took Philosophy with her and that class is equally as amazing. I wish I was a history major just so I could continue going to her lectures, they really have been the highlight of my week. Definitely take her.

She only gives a handful of tests throughout the semester and they are all based on her lectures which are AMAZING. She made me actually enjoy a history class. As long as you show up and pay attention you will pass.

I absolutely ADORE Dr. White and I loved her class. I actually got sad when I missed her class, because it was that enjoyable for me. Tests come from lecture. No textbook.

Comment:

Dr. White is amazing. Doesn't take attendance, offers a bunch of extra credit, keeps lectures (for history classes) interesting. Even an 8 am class with her isn't bad. Grades are mostly a quiz and 3 exams, so you must take notes and study, but there's no book so it's pretty easy.

Comment:

Had her for two classes in the same semester. Made both classes interesting. Attendance is important to her and for success in her class. Lectures are long and all PowerPoint but not horrible. Lets class out early and does reviews. Very few grades in the class and are all tests. Not the easiest but definitely NOT the hardest. Bonus points often!

If you don't come to class you absolutely will fail, but her lectures are SO interesting. I hated history before her, now I look forward to going to class. If you study you'll get an easy A. She's hilarious and so sweet. She offers one or two bonus assignments along with a few multiple choice tests. Take her!

Before I went into Professor Cheryl white history 106 class , I thought history was boring and irrelevant, to be quite honest. But Professor white makes every story come to life.!! I wish I could have taken her again :(. We didnt really use a text box, and her tests are quite easy once you study the notes. Get you will get an easy A or B!!

Online MNPA at LSUS, Dr. White is the professor. The online course is simple in comparison to other instructor. She marked off 10 points on an essay assignment and I have emailed 3 times requesting feedback as her syllabus advises and still no response. Post assignments are generic. Slow to grade work. Final paper is due next week. Disappointed.

The class was 33% online. The online portion was somewhat easy, but she would at times inexplicably and arbitrarily count off 5-10% on an online post and not say why despite being directly asked and despite the posts being within the criteria stated on the syllabus. Her essay tests are graded harshly, and she inserts her own opinions in lectures.

Dr. White made me fall in love with history again! Her lectures were fascinating, and she made them fly by. I loved the book we used so much that I bought it again later for fun reading!

Comment:

She is very clear at the beginning of the semester on what is expected. Attend class, because there wasn't a text book this time. Made it more difficult for me due to being a person who likes to take notes then read a text book to bring all material together. I recommend printing the slides in note form so you can follow along with her lectures.
