He is a really good professor and lays out concepts so they can be easily understood. He answers questions in class for anyone having a hard time and has comprehensive test reviews before each test. Just do the homework and there is no reason you shouldn't pass.

Professor Haaga was a really great professor who you could tell was very passionate about his subject. Attendance is not mandatory for the class, but does count towards extra credit for the final. I did not do particularly well in the class but that is more so my own unwillingness to study. If this is a required class for you I would take his class

Grades papers pretty difficult at mostly low B's on them for the class. Tests cover some material not widely discussed. Vague answers when asked about some questions (which is kinda what you'd expect) but still manages to not be helpful. Should've been an easy A class but you'll prob get out with a B.

Best professor I've had. The class isn't as easy as everyone says, you do have to atleast put forth some effort to learn the rules in logic. If you do that, then the class is fairly easy. You don't need a book, but the course packet is helpful

He grades the essays a bit tough but as long as you follow his instructions, you are guaranteed an 80 or above. For other assignments, they are very easy. Please go to lectures and take notes if you want to do well on his tests. There will be multiple choices and free responses questions. Nothing is bizzare.

Haaga is a great professor and really cares about his students, but this class is no joke. i'm a senior and it's the hardest class i have taken. you're either the type of person that gets logic or you will struggle with it all semester. you need to attend class so you understand what's going on because this is not a 'teach yourself' type of class.

Although logic isn't my favorite subject, professor Haaga is one of the best teachers i've had to date. He truly loves what he teaches, & he loves teaching it. He's a happy go lucky guy that will make you laugh quite a bit throughout the semester. The class is hard, but he makes it a lot easier with humor, and a great website full of videos to help

Haaga is very straightforward and gets right to his point. Lectures are stimulating, but only if you are actively engaged. He is a laid back and funny, but don't take this professor for granted - Haaga is a diamond in the rough. The more you put in to this class, the more you get out of it. I loved this class and wish I could take him again.

Logic 1 is not as easy as everyone said it was but it is not impossible, if you do all of the practice from the orange book, you will be fine for the exams. This class has 5 exams, and 10 quizzes, the first exam is the easiest so start the semester off strong in this class as I wish I had done so! Professor is absolutely wonderful.

An amazing professor who is respectful. On the first exam i got a C but after that I got straight A's. He has online videos to help you study which are very helpful. On the midterm and on the final if you have never missed class you get 3 extra credit points. Class isn't mandatory. You will get an A if you do the practice questions and study.

Really respectful and nice professor! Attendance not mandatory but encouraged, I was able to get a couple extra points at the end of the year because I attended almost every class. About 3 papers, 3 tests Including the final, and about 20 quizzes that get divided into two quiz grades. You are guaranteed an A if you listen to the lectures.

Great professor all around. Lectures are clear and specific, and tell you exactly what to expect from the tests. If you can do the practice problems you can ace the tests. Later in the semester he devotes a couple classes to interesting philosophical concepts that don't show up on the tests but are still worthwhile. Strongly recommend for Logic 2.

Such a great great person, really wants everyone to understand the material and do well. I took logic 1 during the summer, the final is mandatory but the lowest test grade is dropped, and the quizzes are optional but can replace another low grade. There is no textbook, just a workbook thats $15 or free if you print it on your own(he gives a pdf).

I loved this class! Attendance is not mandatory, but you get bonuses for only missing one class between certain tests. Four tests and a final, 10 quizzes with the highest 8 taken, can drop the lowest of those except the final. Homework in the packet - not required - is extremely helpful in preparing for tests and doing well in the class.

One of the nicest professors i've had at UH, he really cares about his students and wants everyone to do well. The material is easy to understand if you pay attention to his lectures and participate. He is helpful and will answer any questions. There are 4 tests, 10 online quizzes and a final. Drops lowest grade out of the 4 test or quiz average.
