Comment:
Dr. La Corte has a passion for history & that spark engages the class in the material. He knows how to have fun & put his own spin on what hes teaching. Hes definitely a mentor to me & I have nothing but respect/positive things to say. Youll have to make time for the readings before class & a hefty paper is due towards the end of the semester.

Grade is based on 3 papers the entire semester. Not impressed with his ability to respect and help students to say the least, so make sure to have other resources at school to help you and be prepared to do everything on your own. If youre looking for a humble, kind, or approachable teacher, take another course elsewhere.

Honestly, Dr. LaCorte is my favorite professor. He's hilarious, and he has a tendency to ramble during his lectures. We do a lot of reading, and the majority of it you'll have to print out. We didn't ever take any tests aside from the midterm and final, so make sure to take notes during his lectures. He's a really cool professor all around.

Dr. La Corte was my first history professor in college, and being an exercise science major, history is NOT my thing. Nonetheless, Dr. La Corte is very passionate and funny during lectures, and makes class enjoyable if you pay attention and participate! 3/4 of your final grade is the 3 exams (no homework) so be sure to go to office hours and study!

Dr. La Corte is quite a character, but I will always remember this class. This is one of those classes that you just have to buckle down and do the work. If you can take the time to do the readings, and take Dr. La Corte's advice, you CAN succeed! I am a business major, but I LOVED this class. Now, because of him, I want to take on a history minor!

Awful professor, the man is a narcissist, and flat out rude for no reason. There is no text book which sucks cause you miss portions of paragraphs for testing.

Great Professor. He was one of the first professors I had at Ambrose and I wish I could take more classes with him. You do have to go to class in order to do well and be able to take your own notes from his assigned readings.

Dr. LaCorte is arrogant. His tests are very difficult and above all will make you work very hard. If you are looking for an easy class this is NOT the class you want to take.

He's very ignorant, arrogant and aggressive towards his students. The readings for class are pointless. He rants and gets off of topic daily. He seems more like a literature/English professor than a history professor. FIND A DIFFERENT PROFESSOR!!!

Does not teach memorize and repeat history. All of the readings one is expected to synthesize meterial from primary source. Only assignment is reading, but there are 2 evil exams. Usually consisting of "who said this quote" and 2 essays.

His class was very hard for me. There are only 2 tests and he expected a lot out of the students for the test. You really have to study and know the material for the tests. Participation is a big part of his class to so if your vocal in class, he likes you more.
