Most intentional prof I've met; he truly invests in his students. I've taken him at least once every semester since becoming an English major. I learn so much about the material, life, and faith in his class. Super encouraging and willing to talk whether about the material or life. Definitely a prof you want to take before you graduate.

Dr. Strait's class makes you think outside the box. My head was spinning every time I left class. He is caring and willing to help if you're struggling. Let me have all the time I needed to finish an exam after an anxiety attack. Incredibly gifted teacher and brilliant professor. 10/10 would recommend.

Dr. Strait is passionate and knowledgeable about English literature. He makes an effort to get to know his students and wants everyone to do well. He's pretty good about giving half-credit on exams. His lectures tend to run a few minutes over, and he often gets distracted from the main topic, but he's still a great professor.

I liked Dan Strait. I just hated that people treated him like a god among men. He's a nice guy and a good prof. Dont try to make him immortal, and dont suck up and try to impress him.

He is passionate about what he does. As a professor, he is interesting in what he talks about and in the specific material that he chooses for the class. Also, it's obvious that his relationship with God is strong, and he works to connect it with other disciplines. Two thumbs up!

Dr. Strait has amazing insight into the texts he uses, and is passionate about both the material and how it applies to contemporary readers' lives (in the spiritual realm particularly). Highly recommended, though if you want complete answers to some of the questions he raises in class (and then assesses) this class may not be for you.
