Awful professor. If you can avoid this guy do it. His lectures are pointless. He goes on random tangents about things that have no connection to the subject. Assigns way to much reading. His essays are the majority of your grade. At least half of the kids in my class were taking it for the second time because they failed the first time. DONT DO IT!

Dr. Miller is a very good professor. Hes a very nice man and truly cares about his students. His classes consist of two 1000-word essay exams, and two 6 pages papers. His upper lever classes, he gives you the option to write a 15 page research paper. His classes are easy Bs and you have to have all of the books he assigns.

Dr. Miller was one of the first professors I took a class with at UWF. I cannot speak much for how he grades because his TA graded everything. I did not like the TA much, but Dr. Miller had good lectures, though he tended to get off topic rather often. He was polite and responded to emails quickly. Wrote two or three papers and took two exams.

There was a few positives about Professor Miller, first of all the man knows his stuff. His lectures are dry and usually without any visuals. His summer course is even worse FYI. This class is an easy B! He also averages the final grades up, so a C+ turns into a B-.

Solid history professor. Very matter-of-fact kind of personality. Take solid notes or record if you can because you will need the information for exams and papers. The books are supplementary but necessary so show up for each class. The course is somewhat challenging

Everyone in our (really small) class had great attendance and had all turned our papers in on time, so he gave up an altered final. He's chill if you read the assigned readings, otherwise you will be super lost. He also doesn't care much in ways of attendance, but he will be nicer if you actually show up.

Miller is Freakin awesome I had him for Western Perspectives II. He doesn't care if you come to class or not, or show up late or leave early. However if you skip you'll miss random quizzes that don't impact your grade to much. Lectures are unnecessary, but well done if your really into the subject. Do the papers and the final and you'll get an A.

All the homework is papers. The papers are mostly around 6 pages (1750 words).

His lectures are extremely long and dry. I took him for Soviet Union since 1917 and he basically reads off of a sheet for an entire lecture. He will destroy your papers with comments and then give you a B normally. His exams are straight forward. You are given three essay prompts, study for 2, and 1 will be on the exam.

He is very straight forward with what he expects from you, but he doesn't really care if you go to class as long as you do well on the two 1000 word written exams and the either one 15 page research paper or two smaller research papers. I received a b on everything, focus on primary sources for paper and you'll do fine.

This class was horrible! The teacher was incredibly rude and very vague on his assignments. If you love reading and doing everything on your own with no clear instruction, then this class is for you.

He is obviously passionate about the subject and captures interest in all students regardless of interest level. Attendance is not mandatory but quizzes are randomly given to equal 6 percent of grade. He will not let you make them up! Papers and essay exams are relatively easy. If you hate writing, this is not the class for you!

One of the best professors of any history course I've ever taken. His class is simple; attendance is not mandatory, but you'll never want to miss it if you love this kind of stuff. He lectures verbally, which shows he really cares about his job. I've learned more about European History in one semester then I did in 4 years of high school.

Took Germany Since 1866 with this professor in 2009. I loved class. He tells good stories. Books were interesting. Two or three, I believe. Essay Exams (I never studied and did awesomely). One bibliography to do with many resources. Learned a lot.

Professor Miller, or Dan as he says, is a very good professor. He's very down to earth and presents his material that way. He's very relaxed on attendance, but you should make every effort to attend classes. His stories and interaction are great. Class is as hard as you want to make it really. A lot of writing, but you are here to learn, right?

He's amazing and very interesting! I would recommend his class to anyone! Assigned books are going to be used, all you have to do is read the book before class and listen to the lecture, if you take good notes you will be able to write the research papers off of them easily! His exams are very easy and you would be prepared for them before the exam day!

Ok he's a very amazing professor, I took his class in my very first semester in college and I enjoyed it! He explains the material veryyy well but you will need every book assigned in the class, but honestly If you take notes and pay attention in class then you'll be able to write the essays or research papers easily because he covers everything. Sometimes ge sounds like he doesn't know what he's saying, but he really does. It's a bit easy to get lost in his class so make sure you take notes.

Dr. Miller is amazingly nice. I think all you have to do in his class is make an effort and he will never give you less than a B+. I took his online class, and the tests were INCREDIBLY hard, but he is a very merciful grader. He always is cheerful and makes you smile with his greetings like "Halo!" and random facts about European countries.
