Professor Jones was wonderful. This class really broadened my horizons in regards to Technical Communication. The quizzes and discussions were easy. Both research papers had clear grading criteria, and helped me understand the benefits of plain language better. I can't say enough great things about this professor.

Jones doesn't like to give perfect scores, but that's okay because his quizzes are piss easy and the discussions aren't so bad either. Take the material seriously - read it and you'll pass easily. His criteria for essays are a bit strict so treat the rubric as a checklist and you should get a decent score if you can write competently.

Dr. Jones is a fantastic professor. He's kind and understanding, and he always goes out of his way to help you if you need it. He can be somewhat of a tough grader, but he's fair. Keep up with the weekly quizzes and discussion posts, and you'll do well in his classes..

Discussion posting every other week, requiring some effort. 10 question quiz every week, requiring no effort besides owning the textbook. 2 major assignments at the end of the year, neither are too difficult.

I found him nice, communicative, and his instructions are always very straightforward. He goes out of his way to assist you if you are a good student. The workload isn't intense at all. He has high standards but that's a good thing. You can learn a lot in his classes if you apply yourself.

Took the course online. Discussions due weekly, 2 lengthy papers, 2 memos, 1 proposal throughout the semester, NO tests. Fairly straightforward course and the professor is very organized, which is a refreshing attribute. Grades in timely manner as well as responds to emails. If you have to take this course I recommend Prof. J. I got an A!

Asks a lot of you concerning discussion posts, which can get tedious. Pretty fair grader, can't complain. Make sure you stay on deadlines or you'll quickly find yourself getting Jones'd.

Took him for Honors Sci-fi Lit. Amazingly clear professor. It's very hard to get confused about what you're doing, except for a few times when he changed assigned stories. Is out to help you succeed, but you MUST do the reading and the work, which is fairly heavy at the beginning but wanes. Very nice and intelligent, but can over-lecture.

I echo the below comment...he treats his students like they have no other classes, ridicules you if you fall behind, saying "it's in your best interest to withdraw." He requires you to use the book HE wrote, and overall is very conceited and as said below, unrealistic. Skip him.

Impossible professor with unrealistic expectations from his students. Insists on using the book (that HE wrote...hmm) and expects that everyone lives solely for submitting the ridiculous number of assignments he posts. If you have any sort of responsibilities outside of his class, choose another professor.

I took ENC3241 with Dr. Jones online. Be prepared to write a lot. He is extremely helpful and after taking his class online, you will realize how much more professional he is over other instructors. Despite the course work being demanding, you will learn topics that WILL help you once you graduate. Work hard and it is not difficult to get an A.

It's not that he plays favorites, but he seems to favor the people he has had in previous classes. I think he bases grades on previous work/writing, so make sure you do all the assignments. There is A LOT of busy work, but follow his instructions and do all the work and he will grade easier on the major assignments.

Best English teacher I've ever had. He's clear in his instructions and the textbook is super helpful (he's co-author). One caveat though- expect to write a lot. Keep up with the assignments and follow the instructions to get a good grade. Seriously, this class helped me refine my tech. writing skills.
