Dr. Grinder really cares about his craft and about his students. Lectures are always interesting and worth your time. His expectations for papers are very clear and he gives good feedback. There's quite a bit of reading for every class but it all has a purpose and is interesting.

Quirky as hell (ex: sometimes takes forever to spit out what he wants to say), but a wonderful professor and human being. I've taken two English classes with him, both which focused on social issues, and he never ceases to amaze me with his knowledge and passion for social justice. He's not an easy prof, but rewards those who give an earnest effort

Dr. Grinder makes a point of mastering the subjects he teaches, instructing with clarity and incredible insight. I have taken several classes from him and never cease to be impressed with the materials he selects or his analysis of those works. Dr. Grinder is an asset to the University and a great help to his students.

Wow. What a professor. He really helped me understand the value of having a great education in English. I got an A in his class and my dad said there was no hope for me in writing. So, Grinder gets an A+. By far the best prof in the department.
