Comment:

Geology is the way to go for a general ed. credit for a physical science. Dr. Cole is hard on his Chem students, but he knows those of us that are in geology are NOT science people. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE BONUS

Dr. Cole is a brilliant man, but his class requires a good deal of hard work and intelligence. The people who say his class isn't good, should really take a look in the mirror. If you study, then you get high Bs and As, simple as that

If you understand science you would probably do well. He gives the notes and you have to fill in the blanks. Gives tons of extra credit, he doesn't want to see you have to drop the class. For most of us science is not our things and that why this class is so tough.

I normally make A's, but in this class I only managed a C. He offers a ton of extra credit, otherwise it probably would've been a D. He's very kind but extremely hard. I studied for hours but somehow still bombed every test. Every question is a trick question, and no matter how prepared I felt, I was never really prepared at all. Avoid taking him.

I did not want to take this class, but it was a gen ed class I needed to get out of the way. This class was harder than I expected.... I managed to pull of a C.... If I had studied a lot more I could have done better. Dr. Cole is really nice, and seems very pleasant. He isn't a bad teacher, its just I wasn't that into the subject material.

This class was ridiculous, it is a gen ed and he made it harder than my major classes, I have all A's but this class and I try hardest for this class. Avoid having to take him for Earth Science because I heard for other classes he is generally good, but don't use him for gen ed's. It will save your GPA.

this class was ridiculous, hardest General ed class I have had, the major classes I have taken are easier, he makes his test ridiculous and the fact that there is so many does not help, I feel it hurts students grades.

He is a nice man. Not very approachable. Seriously seems to care about the students. His tests and homeworks are challenging. Pulled out a B. All in all, would take him again given the opportunity.

Dr. Cole is definitely the best science teacher I have ever had. He got to know me personally, which meant a lot, and I could tell he truly wanted me to do well. I would definitely recommend taking him if you ever get the chance! It is a challenging class but it is worth it in the end.

Comment:

Dr. Cole is by far the best Chemistry teacher at Harding. While he is a little unfriendly outside of class, the man could not be more helpful in it. His tests and WebAssigns are hard, but no where near as hard as the other teachers. He also understands that you have other classes, and so is flexible on test dates and other things.

I think he is a very nice man. He is always excited about what he teaches and throws in several pictures to help you learn. There are SEVERAL extra credit chances BUT I find his tests super hard. It's worded in a way that you forget what it's about. If you study your NOTES and HIS STUDY GUIDE you should be okay. I liked it just not the tests.

He is very knowledgeable but his class is very hard. The study guide book helps a LOT on tests, but they are still hard. If you are willing to do the extra credit and take the time to study you can easily pass his class though.

Very good teacher. He wants you to do well, so has a lot of extra credit opps. and goes over the tests before giving them as well as giving through study guides. Lectures are very interesting with good visual aides.

Dr. Cole is great. Really helpful, just difficult enough to make you learn it but not so hard you want to kill yourself. Highly recommended, although Schramm is a good teacher as well.

Comment:

He is very hands on with his teaching, lots of pictures, rock samples, he even made a volcano with nitrogen gas, which was pretty cool. The tests are kinda hard, there is a lot of information you need to know for them. But, I totaly recomend him to anyone!
