The guy is a good prof, an expert in the field and could talk for DAYS about machining and tool wear. He makes you work HARD for your grade; few but tough homework, WEEKLY group lab report which can suck if you dont have a good group. This class will keep you BUSY and in my opinion is not worth the trouble if you dont plan to follow a career in it.

Not an entertaining class at all. All exams you are allowed to have some note sheets though so that helps but they are difficult. The exams are the same from semester to semester so if you could get your hands on one that would be ideal.

DeMeter is a knowledgeable guy but the way he presents material is awfully dull. What makes his class hard is the course structure. Instructions for labs and assignments are vague and DeMeter doesn't give two poos. Is the curve for this class even significant? Oh and don't copy old labs word for word, dudes got a "turn-it-in type" program.

I came in hating this class because of the bad word of mouth people had about him, but I came out having learned a lot. Take it with him if you want to actually learn something in your life.

Worst teacher ever!!!!!!!!!!!! GD&T was not taught and it was the most important concept in the course. Dude had us watching self help videos and gave us ridiculous amounts of hw; hw based on GD&T concepts of course. IE 312 is terrible, luckily he curves at the end.

Not as bad of a prof as the reviews here will lead you to believe. He will make you work in IE 306, but if you put in the effort for the group lab reports, you will come out of this class fine. Don't take the class if you're going to slack though.

He has really improved as a teacher. He will make you work for your grade, but he will make sure everyone knows what is going on before he continues in his small classes. During office hours when you ask a question, he may look at you like your crazy, but will answer you thoroughly. I took this course because I needed to, but I really enjoyed it

Comment:
Used a test from another teacher the semester before. Half the class had access to the old exam and half the class didn't so the curve on the exam was thrown off. There was a huge deviation in grades with 18 100s. The avg. was 70! Can you say unfair
