Comment:
He's one of those professors who have accumulated a lot of information but unfortunately don't reach knowledge of their own. If you aren't familiar with Latin American culture, take him. He's good for such students. Otherwise pass.

Professor Barradas is the best. His classes are incredible. The lectures are a little bit disperse but the classes are overall great.

You can only miss three classes, and double blocks count as two absences. Enjoyed this class. The material was interesting and he is personally invested in each and every student. A lot of reading (that I didn't necessarily do) but participation is a must so have something to talk about.

Very superficial class. His lectures were reduced to historical overviews. There was a divorce between theoretical approaches and textual analysis. One of the most mediocre classes I have ever come across.

Had him for Latino Culture in the US. LOOKED FORWARD TO CLASS EVERY WEEK AND DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE. So much fun, great class discussion...the readings are interesting and you devour them. Found the class by chance and thought I'd give it a try - BEST decision I ever made. This class is the sort of class that makes you think outside class.
