This teacher was amazing. She is like a mom because she really cares about her students. She really loves Anthro. I hear that spring 2011 was her last semester at SMC, but if she does come back... you must take her.

I'm sitting in her class now and it's the easiest thing. She's got this curly hair, so I think she's dating someone now (which is good for my grade, I think). She's really excited about her subject. It's a fascinatingly easy class. Don't waste your money on the book.

She teaches off power point so you don't really have to take notes. Her tests are based on the lectures, but the lectures are soooo boring. If you're a dedicated student i recommend, if not, stay away.

Not easy, not tough. scholars class and regular are the same but we got a trip to the zoo. 3 tests and zoo project. need to study powerpoints thoroughly. class is boring. nice professor, overall recommend

I do not recommend this class at all. I had to basically teach myself the information. She lectures the entire class (which puts most people to sleep), and gets annoyed if people ask questions. Her tests are extremely tricy and hard. You are only graded on 3 tests so if you mess up on those, you're screwed.

So easy! I don't know why her easiness rating is so low. I bought teh textbook and I regretted it, I've never opened it. Her lectures are good enough, got A's on all the tests and the xtra credit really helped. Lectures are extremely boring though.Be on time, she's big about that.

It wasn't until halfway through the course that I realized it was all test. Lecture can be boring with all the powerpoints, but questions are always welcome. She's a bit eccentric, wearing themed primate clothing,but I think she is a generally nice person.

shes so good! she gets along with everyone and shes so clear and fair with grades. just show up and get ready to learn but if the class was watching a film dont guess where we left off like i did. =] thanks dr.t!!!

She uses power points a lot, and makes them available to print at home. She is helpful, but there is A LOT of material, she helps through email, but her exams are tricky, she does give extra credit though. shes not very clear, and moves around subjects a lot. just a tricky teacher, nice, but very odd and you dont always kno wat she wants or expects

she wasn't very big on the textbook. first tests are always a bit hard, but i used only her lectures and pulled off As for the final three exams. lectures can be somewhat difficult to follow, but she's very helpful, especially through e-mail. b/c she's so passionate about the class, it makes it pretty engaging. zoo trip is fun :-)

Dr. Toback is definately very passionate about what she teaches. Lots of reading involved, but if you attend class and read the sections, you should do fine. Only 4 tests, every test has extra credit, and all lectures are posted on e-companion if you need it. If you don't mind reading, this is a great class.

Quirky teacher. Passionate about Anthro. Easy material although final two tests cover a lot of info. I had an 'A' throughout but final test killed me and I ended with a B. Very little discussion, all lecture. Locks students out if late and says you are not supposed to leave unless you have an approved emergency...reminds me of middle school.

Dr. Toback is definately passionate about anthropology. 4 tests the entire semester, and this is the only thing you're graded on. Go to class, take notes, and read the book and you'll do fine. Almost entire class is put on powerpoint lecutres on e-companion so you have easy access.

This is the worst teacher ive had in my entire life.. u shouldnt take a class with someone just because they are nice.. and yes im not going to lie she is nice however if youre not good at taking tests like me. .u will fail all there are are tests tests and more tests.. there are no essays no hw or essays her lectures dont help i had to drop

She gets lost when she lectures. She lectures forever.If you have a question forget it... She never make it back to where she left off in her lecture. She keeps the class over 5 minutes every day. And if you do not have a memory like a computer you will not do well on her tests. There are NO ESSAYS or reports to turn in Simply tests based on memory
