This guys is a waste of Georgetown salary dollars. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. He is a pompous, arrogant, bloviating professor who's interests lie solely with himself. Seriously....do not take anything he teaches. Read his books - professor Winters writes drivel. He should be kicked out of the country and his tenure should be revoked.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER! AVOID!!!! Made me cry twice... and he's a JESUIT! He wants you to regurgitate his viewpoints exactly, and most of his readings are manuscripts he's written. Very interesting, but if you are wrong about what you think he thinks, or do anything remotely different, he fails you. Literally, gives you a 0. Totally arrogant jerk.

If you actually want to take a class in which you learn how to resolve the ethical dilemmas that arise in IR, don't take this class, as all he wants you to do is rehash his ideas, not formulate your own. If you want an easy A (four 3-4 pg. papers, gives you a week off class to write them) that double counts as IPOL and theology, it's def worth it.

You will either love him or hate him. I enjoyed the class, even though he did not teach. Rather, we read the materials and discussed them in small groups, summarizing to the class at the end. As long as you agree with him (and I did anyways), and footnote heavily on the papers, you should do very well. Solid course, Theo Req and counts 4 IPOL . YES

This class, or rather Prof Winters, is awful. He doesnt lecture- the class is discussion sections. You learn nothing in the class, your responsibilities entail summarizing Winters opinions on the material. Should you not do this, you are punished. He made a girl cry, insulted another. Winters sole contribution is the text, he doesn't teach.

Listening to this guy bloviate about his interviews with a bunch of dead guys is unbearable. As long as you suck up to him he'll like you. He's just another self-righteous washed up quack. Most of the class is spent reading stuff he wrote (he can't write...way too many commas...booooring) and he loves to talk so bring ur ipod to class.

Awesome professor, who knows loads. He does not lecture, rather has group discussions which are far more interesting. Igonorant students claim you have to agree with him. Rather he presents the topics so clearly, with such overwealming evidence, disagreeing with him is sophistic and a waste of time, unless you want to also write a book on the topic

Basically, this guy is a TRIPPER...he is old and very knowledgeable but totally caught up w/ himself (loves to refer to himself in 3rd person and most of reading materials are books he read)...you dont really have to go to class, just 2 big papers at midterms and finals where you summarize his books. Don't say 'like' a lot, he'll smack you.

Very intelligent man, he clearly knows what he is talking about. Although he takes umbridge at being disagreed with, mostly because he believes that he has thought these things out very thouroughly and that he is convinced that he is right. Enlightening class, but many annoying SFS kids.

AWESOME CLASS. The course is about wars, and he tends to justify them. (blamed the Japanese for getting a-bombed…twice) if you are not a fan of military action, or would have a moral/ethical problems in saying that a certain military op. is right, this course is not for you. YOU MUST AGREE WITH HIM.

Know what you're getting into. Don't think about sharing your opinion in this class. Listen and regurguate his opinions in essays with a couple new points-it's that simple. The material is interesting and the man knows his stuff on Hiroshima and Diem's coup. Plus, double counts for Theo and IPol.

Worst class i've taken. If you don't agree with everything he says your grade will suffer.not actually a theology class. The words god and religion were never spoken once. Avoid this class unless you are in SFS and orgasm over the thought of international politics.
