Obviously a teacher who never encountered technical difficutlies -- unable to deliver technical advice. Seemingly uncaring for those students who could not naturally overcome their own technical problems. Good as a voice "coach"... not a teacher.

Never had a lesson with him, but he said evil things about my personality to my friends behind my back. Just because I lost interest in singing, and wanted to pursue other things, I was somehow a bad influence. It is hard enough to be in competition with your friends, but to have voice teachers pitting you against eachother..uh uh...not cool!

Anyone who can be so against Richard Miller cannot possibly understand a thing about pedagogy. This man is a freakishly talented singer, but God did not give him the gift of teaching. The man is very shy, defensive and very passive. A wonderful coach, but how he became tenured at Oberlin of all places will forever be an unsolved mystery. STAY AWAY!

So I've never actually had a lesson or class with GC, but I've gotten to know him. And he's actually a pretty cool funny guy. Just shy at first. And yeah, he's a little odd, but who isn't, especially in the music world?

this is ridiculous, GC is one of the most amazing people ever. what might be troubling to some people is the fact that he expects singers to be musicians. if you want to get anything out of voice study, learn your music, don't make excuses, and come to your lesson with something intelligent to say.
