Weekly discussion, and 3 essays with a midterm and final. It is an online class so not much to expect. Essays are fun. He assigns the rest of the chapters at the last 2 weeks which were 6. I have a A- so far just need to do the final essay and final exam.

At first, I thought it would be easy. Only 1 assignment due a week, 4 essays, and 2 exams. Then the last 2 weeks of the semester hits and he realizes he hasn't covered all the chapters. So he assigns the remaining 10+ chapters do be done during finals week ALONG WITH THE FINAL. Also, sent 4+ emails and NEVER got a response. Avoid him!!!!!

There is little communication between student and teacher because it is an online class. However, I would've liked if he responded to my emails because approaching him in class is not an option, obviously. He was helpful when he did (one time lol). Weekly discussion posts based on the chapters in the book and just 4 response papers.

Do not take this class. Prof. releases discussions that are to be done about once a week after you read the corresponding chapter. He released about only 9 throughout the semester and then over 10 chapters and discussions the last two weeks of the semester. It is a 100 level course that is taking time away from my important classes during finals.

The online class is most certainly possible, however, it is hard. The topics for his papers are very general, but I saw that maybe this was his way of giving students autonomy. One paper literally asked you to solve the problem of climate change denial, which is pretty funny. The weekly posts are just reactions. But, the exams are impossible.

Ruined my semester. Tells you when assignments are due or what they are at a moment's notice. Emails you hw on a Saturday night, grade based on if you agree with him, too much work in 100 level treats it like a grad course 4 papers, discussion posts twice a week on 2 or more chapters, tests are insane, he's rude and pretentious, text was terrible.

I took an online course of his this semester and it is the worst experience I've ever had. He keeps you in the dark about everything from examassignment grading criteria to expectations in the class as a whole. He rudely responded to my emails (the one time he did, only after I complained to my advisor). I would not recommend AT ALL.

Took his online class in the fall. One of the best professors there. He is clear on what he wants and the book is needed. Weekly discussion posts about the chapter, No tests, but a midterm and a Final both 10 essay questions but very easy. and 4 response papers also very easy no page limit to it as well. Best online class i took. Easy A

I took this class online... What a joke. This guy probably checks his email once a week. He messed up the book order in the beginning of the semester, so I ended up with the wrong book! You do weekly discussion boards about a chapter and you talk about anything. Doesn't tell you what will be on the midterm/final. Save a headache and don't take him.

This professor was great, hands down one of the best I have came across at MSU. I took his winter class online, had little to no interest in the subject prior. So helpful, awesome feedback and easy to reach. This class really makes you think outside of the box. Take him, Take him Take him!!

Professor Alcalay is brilliant and I have a lot respect for him. I really enjoyed his feedbacks in the online section. The exams were really hard, 10 essay questions in 100m. I like essay exam but 10m/Q is not enough to think, develop and write a good critical answer.it is impossible to get an A .

Stay away if you are conservative and/or do not wish to change your political/religious views. Textbook use was really low, and classes were very often low. The final exam was full of absurd questions. Overall, the class was easy since the main project was a 20 page paper that we had the semester to complete. You will learn, but beware.

I took the online summer session for this class. It was A LOT of reading and writing, but easy to keep up with. Midterm/final were hard because they were all essays. always extends due dates and cut out a lot of material. It was definitely do-able, I would recommend this class.

prof alcalay's class was great. Its not necessarily the easiest, but he keeps your attention and its very interesting. He is very insightful and full of spunk. You def should keep up with the readings during the semester or just plan on studying hardcore for the midterm and final if you dont read. very caring guy, and great prof.

This professor was very disrespectful to the class,i.e. when a classmate responded saying that she prays to God,and God answers, he told her that, it is mental illness-Constantly calling Americans ignorant -Allot of God bashing-irrelevant to topic. He does not teach he just lectures. 4 papers, midterm, final. No study Guides. Test on entire Texts.

Professor has a tendency to go off on a tangent, but his tangents are never too far from globalization. There are four or five reaction papers, a midterm, and a final. Even if you don't do the reading, he covers the material in class. Loved this prof.. wonderful human being.. TAKE HIM

Finally, a professor that understands our world beyond the textbook. He is the first professor ive had here in three years that understands the works of the Illuminati, the NWO, the REAL reasons behind the American empire, and how global elitists and INTL bankers have become more powerful than governments. Take him and you will learn a lot.
