I took history of rock and roll online and let me tell you. This was one of the most rigorous courses i have ever taken online. There are tons of assignments every day!!! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. The teacher was definitely not as cool as people on here say he is. I literally got a higher grade in CHEM THAN I DID IN THIS CLASS. SO ANNOYING!

Easy teacher and the class is fun, but the preaching gets old fast. He constantly talks about his opinions, makes you wish he'd just stick to the lecture. He can kind of be rude if you dont agree w him Tests are like half extra credit so unless you get on his bad side, you will probably pass. Just show up. Didn't use the textbook, but got an A.

Gus is the best!! Ive only taken his History of Rock and Roll class, but it was easily one of the most enjoyable classes I've taken at WV. Who doesn't love a class where you can sit a listen to the Beatles?! He also covers rap, punk, motown, blues, ect. Take notes and show up, its a fun class!! Wish I could take this class again!

This class is tough. Once you fall behind it's hard to catch up because the material is cumulative. But he's still pretty funny, he explains to one on one on the white board, and he let me turn in late work. Avoid if your socially anxious, u will be put on the spot if ur late/absent, u have to work in front of the class a lot.(no textbook btw)

Gus is the most friendly college teacher I've ever had. He truly cares about you and your grade. Your future in music means something to him as long as you're making a diligent effort. Be sure to do your homework and study for your exams. Pop quizzes come randomly. The guy is mad funny and a joy to have around. Perfect balance in a professor.

Mr. Kambeitz KNOWS what he is teaching. This was a condensed online class and he requires you to work hard (and spell correctly), but he communicates clearly and replies to questions almost instantly.

Rock and Roll History. He's the type of teacher that won't round up your grade 1% to get a better grade. MEAN. Won't respond to e-mail. Doesn't know or care to know your name. Got A's on everything important, missed a couple classes with extremely LOW point class activites and wound up getting a C. DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?? nope. #fail >.<

Semi-cool guy, whines about everything, not friends with students, kind of into what he's doing. attend every class, read the material because his tests are RIDICULOUSLY detailed. 4 outlines or essays, multiple choice final. waste of time class.. easy A.In the class you watch a couple documentarys on major bands and listen to music the full time.

He's a nice guy and is somewhat into what he is teaching. He shows youtube videos all the time and different movies. He is a tough grader on the essays, so make sure to follow the directions and write amazingly. Even though I did, he still gave me an F on a paper and I was pissed!

I knew music very well before taking this class, but Gus was funny and very helpful. During class, you mostly practice and write on the white board. If you go to class every day and do the homework, you will get an A. He will drop you if you are absent 4 times.

I took Fundamentals of Music. The lesson material is hard for someone with no prior music experience. Attendance is mandatory: trust me, I missed ONE class and was confused the next day. Gus is an excellent teacher, and also goes off on rants about life in general. He's a funny guy too!

He'll like you if you're not a moron. If you have trouble in his class, it's because you're a slacker, or because you ask dumb questions. He doesn't go easy on anybody - but he IS there to help, if you have questions that he hasn't answered already. May attention, do the work (which is usually minimal) and you'll be fine. And he's funny!

cool guy, as long as you listen, pay attenting and take notes and study your all good. you have to got to 3 concerts n make reports about them. they r not that hard. other than that, the class is really fun! it would help a LOT!!!! if you have some knowledge of music! like melodies n such! TRUST ME!!!!!!!

Gus wasn't the worst but definetly wasn't the best. If your not in jazz band it's hard to get the time of day from this guy. He's the only prof. who can find a way to answer a yes or no question without a yes or no. He seems like a decent person but i would reconsider taking a "non-jazz" class with him.

Gus was atrocious. He changed requirements (added work) a week before the online class was finished. His comments on the discussion boards were vague and useless. He rarely answered questions fully, sometimes not at all.

Easiest class of my life, basically. He repeats a lot of information every class meeting, so you don't even have to study that much. I didn't read the book once. Makes you go to two jazz concerts for a review but by that time you appreciate it. I only did one and still got an A. He's really loud and spontaneous, it's great.
