BIOL205 was the first class I had Chin-Sang and he was a great prof. You could tell that he was passionate about what he was teaching and genuinely wanted you to understand material. He does qlicker participation and Kahoot quizzes each class that are great to study off of for the midterm

Amazing prof! He clearly loves what he teaches and makes you interested in it too. Was very easy to pay attention in his lectures. The material can be hard so make sure you keep on top of it and you'll be fine.

Dr. Chin-Sang is a very effective teacher. His in class examples are great. Don't try to memorize past exam questions, understanding his main concepts are key. He is very enthusiastic and approachable. Great class!!!

Absolutely terrible professor. Would avoid his courses if at all possible. Genuinely can't explain concepts during office hours, lacks empathy and support to help his students and assist them. Pays no attention or concern if students show (with documentation) mental health issues. Extremely rude, unorganized, and conceded.

Thoroughly enjoyed the course. Dr. Chin-Sang is a very knowledgable and engaging professor. Yes the content can get tough at times but if you supplement lectures with the textbook and attend all lectures you should be able to do quite well in the class.

This prof was no help at all in this course... he was very confusing in lectures and all of his slides were straight out of the textbook, with no effort to make things clearer or easier to understand. He cares a lot about his students, but I always felt lost in class. The midterm was killer, but he was a bit easier on the final.

Yes, it is a tough class, however it is possible to get a good grade. He's not lying when he says all of his exam questions are taken from the lecture slides. Supplement these with the textbook and you should do fine. Chin-Sang is also nice when it comes to grades and he will bump you up if you finish on a borderline and participate in the forums.

He's the most enthusiastic professors I've ever had. Most students who complain about his course don't bother putting in the work load required for a second year science course. He's very generous with his time and immediately replied to e-mails. Course work load is fair. You just have to put in time and effort, as is expected from a uni student.

Took BIOL 205 with him this past semester, hated it more than life itself. I was looking forward to this course and it just ended up being a huge headache. His tests are very difficult and the lab portion was rushed/not helpful in any way. Unfortunately this course was a requirement for bio majors and will destroy my GPA. Avoid at all costs!!

unfortunate that he mumbled, talked at the screen and read off the slides because it made the class very tedious and it was difficult to pay attention for the full 90 min. i thought I would love this course, and if he could have held my attention long enough for me to learn the material I think I would have.

BIOL 205 was awful. Chin-Sang is ok, I think he tries to get students to enjoy the course content but his slides are all over the place... Midterm average was so low it had to be curved.... Final will probably be the same...

He changed the course around this year. Nothing was online, and the midterm was awful. He did make the final a lot easier, but I doubt it'll bring my mark up that high. He's passionate about genetics, but unfortunately, this class is probably going to weigh down my GPA a lot. Make sure you stay on top of everything, and do the readings.

Very energetic but not the best at explaining more difficult concepts. Some quiz questions were very confusingly worded and even when some other students and I went to talk with him after class about a question we all left even more confused. I found the explanation in the textbook and it could have been explained easily had he just been clear
