Great teacher. I took him for medieval lit. He really knows the material and he LOVES it. He's interesting because he's so eccentric. Yes, the class is hard but you really do learn A LOT. His class helped me in other English classes. And he gives good advice.

Comment:

Professor Hall's class was very rigorous, but it was also rewarding. I don't recommend you take a class from him if you do not care about the subject, but if you do care and are willing to work intensely, then his classes are challenging but extremely informative. Expect to work very hard, and don't be surprised by his strict grading.

Hall is extremely condescending. He goes off on tangents and is constantly playing catch-up to go over all the material. He has said before that he does not give A+ grades. Not someone I would ever take a class with again.

My roommate took someone else for Advanced Grammar. Not sure who, but I'm very glad I had Dr. Hall. His class is pretty hard but you get out of it what you put into it. On the final he asks you what you think you deserve. I put a "B" and got a B... still wondering if I'd put "A" if I would have gotten one. Might not hurt to try.
