The class is very boring, but it's because of the subject matter. The exams are ridiculous--they're super specific and are pulled directly out of the book, but aren't worth much. The case study will help in balancing your grade. I like her as a person and she is very knowledgeable in her field, so she made the class more interesting.

This was her first semester, Spring 2018, teaching Admin. The class is really boring and she talks a lot. She doesn't let you leave until like 3 mins before the end of class. Attendance is 20% of your grade, 2 critiques that 20%, a presentation which is 30% and 3 exams that are 30%. She doesnt review for the exams. Just read the chapters.

As an MIS Professional, finally getting a degree in MIS, I do not recommend you take this class. Professor Porra, is teaching a methodology that has not been utilized in the last 20+ yrs. I strongly suggest you take the Waterfall - Agile Methodology Analysis and Design class, as it will teach you what you need to learn today as the base for MIS

Not a hard class to take because of the way she structures the class, the online quizzes are VERY helpful. Assignments aren't tough and you can work in group. She's is very knowledgeable but you can get lost in her lectures as she can go on a tangent. Class may be boring but the topic is boring itself and she does her best to teach it.

Not the most exciting class, but Dr. Porra does her best to make the material engaging. As long as you do a half decent job the assignments aren't graded super strict. The tests are pulled from the book and a little of the online chapter quizzes. Very friendly and approachable too.

Prepared to be bored to your tears, for this class is entirely lecture and no hands on at all. Professor Jaana is a nice instructor, but she can get hung up on a particular slide and just harps on and on and on. 75% attendance is needed to get a more lenient grading scale. If you can learn entirely from textbook, you do not need to attend class.

This class is simple, 3 exams and 5 assignments. Exams are worded straight from the textbook and the online quizzes on the publishers website. Don't rely too much on the online quizzes!! Just read the chapters and you'll for sure get an A

Pretty easy course if you read before class and take the quizzes before each exam. Your grade consists of 3 exams or 3 exams and 5 assignments. She requires you to attend class depending on your grade. The higher your grade on your exams the less you have to attend class.

I took MIS 6341 in the summer and it was a lot of work. We read the entire textbook in the 4 week course. There is a paper due each week, a midterm and a final. Professora Porra was knowledgeable, but classes were fairly long. Be prepared to read a lot.

Knowledgable proessor. The first test will give you an indication on how to handle the next few. I failed the first test because I did not review the online sample tests. Do the sample book test questions and memorize it like the back of your hand. Every exam has about 25-30 questions from there. Attended class 50% and got a B+.

I took this as my elective class and it's super easy. Do all the assignments and it's worth 40% of your grade. Tests are only worth 20% each. Just study the web quizzes and you can pull off Bs on the tests, do all the assignments, and pull off an A

Professor Porra is a good teacher. She relies heavily on the text and it would be in your advantage to use the publishers website. The class is pretty basic so it's hard not to make a good grade. Overall good class.

She gives two paths through this course: to come to class or not. Therefore, the tests are straight out of the book. Take the online quizzes to study and you're golden. Class is very interesting, and she gives a lot of stories from her career. Yes, she is from Europe, and she tells stories from her early career. I find them interesting!

She, like most other "IT" professors is completely out of touch with the business and technology world. She focuses on mindless paperwork and creating fluffy powerpoint slides that fudge imaginary numbers rather than actual solution. I have long graduated and received other degrees and am a professional and this is only confirmed to me.

I had her a few years ago and I have never seen anybody be so full of themselves. Every other word out of her mouth was "back in finland(or whereever she's from), we were so much ahead of you guys. Now that I'm in the workforce, pretty much everything she taught in MIS was wrong. Just humor her, do her busy work and and pass, but she's full of i
