Comment:

Professor Yao is a favorite of mine. He was great for C++ in CIS170 & 247. Object Oriented Analysis & Design from Yao was a good extension from the OOP concepts from coding. His weekly handouts reflect his thorough preparation and he does care that students are absorbing and keep up.

Incredible professor...Due to the accelerated format and content, it's difficult to give this professor more than a 3 on easiness. If you want to learn how to program, understand that it takes time. If you want to understand the foundation necessary for programming...take his class.

Prof. Yao is awesome and he knows his stuff. That program you spend 5 hours writing that took up half a page....took him five lines and 5 minutes. He's encouraging and wants you to succeed. He's a little hard to understand at first but you get used to that. I highly recommend him to anyone.

Wow this teacher sucks!! He gives students inaccurate information and does not explain the important stuff students need. He is almost incompetent when it comes to VB.NET. Also, he thinks way to much of himself. Jack, if your reading this learn how to use the VS.NET IDE and give your students a chance to interact in class

Awesome teacher. Breaks C++ down, clarifies and makes it seem like learning the abc's. Very helpful, always willing to explain beyond the lecture. Doesn't go by the book, actually he should write his own book..he creates his own lecture and hands out a guide explaining everything.

Mr. Yao is an amazing professor. He works hard to make sure his students learn what he is teaching. If you need any assistance he is always willing to provide it. There have been times when I was the opnly person left in the class and he still used patience and helped me learn the material.

He's a good professor, however, he does get lazy at times and doesn't teach so much. His grading system is not satisfying. He doesn't give us grades till the end of the semester and has many mistakes. But overall he's an OKAY teacher.
