Pierce is a great prof who really knows his stuff. Some people obviously don't get it and think that because this is a 100-level class that it's fluff. If you pay attention you'll learn a lot and get some good laughs along the way. If you don't, you may well end up bitter about your grade and come here to whine about it as if it's not your fault.

Terrible teacher. He is not helpful whatsoever and only cares about himself. He catches the slightest mistakes in papers and if your test answers are not word for word from his book it will be wrong. No room for opinion totally commie.

This Man is an absolute pompous bore. The dude is drier then egyptain pharaohs and could not care less about his students learning then his pride in making writing the textbook used for the class that he makes the students pay for even though the entire book is online for free. DO NOT TAKE. I know it looks like an easy general but it's not. BEWARE!

Goes over way too much information in 50 minutes, most of it is over my head. He doesn't take his time and actually see if people understand it, he just keeps going. I took this as a general because I didn't want to take chem or Biology because I hate science.. this class wasn't a good choice for that.

I thought it was a very interesting class, and as long as you show up, you will do well on the quizzes, the only thing that really made me unhappy was when he wouldn't let me make up a quiz that I missed because I had to have surgery, his response to 'but I have a doctors note' was 'well, that's what extra credit is for!' Observatory helps, too.

I HATED THIS CLASS WITH A PASSION. He writes everything on the board and his handwriting is hard to read.He seems to expect that everyone in the room is a scientist. If you have to take this class, don't take it in the morning because it is almost impossible not to fall asleep. He looks and sounds just like the guy who plays Sean Connery on SNL.

he gives a lot of material and covers a lot in one day, but if you go to class everyday and pay attention you will do well on the tests and pop quizzes. it's a good idea to go the observatory all 5 times that you can to get the points. he really knows is stuff. grades on a curve because it can be really hard for most people. but it was easy for me.
