Comment:

Jason ruins the GD program at the school. First, he talks more about himself more than he teaches. He is more concerned about his socks and his next LGBTQ pool party at his house. Consistently brags about himself, his "friends", and his own design that aren't all that good. He admitted to other students that he's a vindictive grader. You're warned.

Jason is an okay guy but a terrible professor. He spends the vast majority of his lecture talking off point, and critiques became more or less water cooler talks about the "awesome and exciting" things that he did over the weekend. I feel like I could have learned everything from this class in a third of the time had I watched some online videos.

Jason is the worst teacher I ever had. I had him for 5 classes before I graduated. He NEVER taught. 90% of class periods were sitting in a circle telling stories. All work was homework since there was no in class work time. No experience as a designer, this was his first job out of college for psychology/3D ani. Horrible adviser too.

The class is by all means not hard. If art isn't for you, neither is this class. However, this class is needed for those into art, so it shouldn't a problem. As long as you take the time to dive into the assignment and really try and put your heart into your project, then getting an 'A' is a breeze.

I've seen many negative comments about Jason. He does play favorites, but his favorites are students who actually care, participate, and try. He knows his stuff and will share if you are trying and communicate with him. The problem is that when students don't give 100% he can tell. If you don't do well in his class, it's only your own fault.

Not impressed. This guy had the nerve to tell us we didnt try. Everytime we ask him for help he only gives one line answers. If his favorite student comes in he forgets about you to spend class time with someone not even in the class. Hes a bit of a mean jerk and definitely plays favorites. Its a toss up whether the class was worth it.

He's fair to everyone for a while, but he's big on class participation. If someone doesn't talk in class or doesn't have the homework (especially on percentage days) you can tell he's like "done with them." Stay on top of things and don't get behind, and he'll do anything to help you out.

Great class, tons of design and illustrator techniques. Master of constructive criticism!! My one negative would be that he is so busy, that puts him in high demand, he's not left with much time for individual help. Truly a thorough and wonderful instructor.

Jason has some of the best and most creative portfolio projects offered at Cincinnati State. He’s also an expert at anything vector related. His classes can be a bit demoralizing if you’ve never used the tools he’s teaching before. If there’s someone in the class who’s an already an expert, be prepared to hear about it the entire term.

Jason is a tough teacher, but he's fair. If you do good work, you get a good grade. He doesn't tell you something's good unless it is. If you don't ask questions, he assumes you understand (and he says that in class all the time!). If you can't handle what he has to say, you shouldn't be in this field.

Jason is a pain in the ass. I admit it fully. He's hard on his students due to him wanting you to show him what you can do. He's a harsh taskmaster and a hard teacher. Though if you listen to what he says and ask questions often, you'll excel in the program or class hes teaching in the end. I've Aced Illustrator, and plan to get a B in DS.

Watch out for Jason. He has a circle of friends with some of his long time students and holds a grudge against people he doesnt know. Jasons grading is bias based on how well you know him so watch out because he can grade hard and theres alot of work involved. although its an intro class you MUST know the program beforehand, jason does not teach u
