My playing improved much faster when I began to study with Jeff my 3rd semester. He has a ton of supplemental materiel from decades of teaching that can really add a lot of depth to your vocabulary. Jeff was the first private instructor I had who asked me what my goals were as a musician, not at all a "one size fits all" kind of approach.

Jeff is a great teacher who truly cares. Dedicated to his students. Great materials and info. If I miss he always tries to reschedule the lesson for me. Knowledgeable. He's always willing to work on what I really want to do but also knows what I need.

He knows a lot about saxophone history, and can teach several styles, from the fundamentals to contemporary effects. He released his own book, but doesn't make you buy it; instead, he gives you hand outs of transcriptions and scales. He is a nice guy, I would recommend the class

I enjoyed my time studying with Jeff. Friends of mine who studied with him complained, but I found him be a teacher that would supplement me with plenty of material to work through. The plus side to Jeff is that he is versatile stylistically speaking. He was a push in the right direction and always helped when I would go to lessons with questions.

I was told that he is more of a contemporary player meaning more rnb/smooth jazz oriented, which is not true.I was unhappy with my private lessons all semester,despite the fact that he has been on time to my lesson maybe once he shows little interest in my improving.He never gives encouragement.And makes you feel bad when you mess something up.
