Prof. Smith makes taxes as interesting as possible. His grading is arbitrary but generous. His throws in the funniest anecdotes randomly in the middle of lecture, which btw is mostly problem solving. Tons of reading. Fair exams.

Really hated this class. He doesn't lecture -- just assumes you know it and jumps straight into problems. Hard for me to learn that way. He's getting paid to teach, isn't he? Also was not very helpful outside of class. If you need extra help, better look elsewhere.

Smith is fantastic, he clearly enjoys teaching and he definitely knows the material. He succeeds at making a potentially dull subject interesting. The group work can be tedious, but exams are fair as if you do the assigned readings and practice problems. I highly recommend this class, even if you have no interest in tax as an accounting major.

His teaching style is tough to follow for me... he spends most of the class going over problems and assumes you know the material pretty well. If you are a tax person, he is a great professor.

I don't know anyone who loves taxes more than Professor Smith! He's a great professor- extremely knowledgeable and understanding. He also tells little anecdotes from time to time (usually pretty random stories, but still funny) to keep the class from getting too dry. Tests aren't bad if you went to class and did your HW.

Thank god the class is required for accounting majors otherwise I would've dropped it in the beginning. By the end, I realized there was a method to his madness and he became my favorite professor.

Very nice and helpful professor! It seems like there was an awfully lot of busy work like cumulative problems and Turbo Tax stuff for a while, but it all just disappeared when his team won the tax challenge...strange. Tests can be confusing at times, but make sure to bookmark the Code well with side notes and tabs because its helpful on the tests.
