Took his fall online class. It is a lot of work but he gives clear instructions. I learned a lot and the longest essay that had to be written was 800 words. There was a total of 9 quizzes, 8 essays, and 8 peer reviews. It is great if you are willing to work.

This is a difficult course, but Dr. Holladay is a great teacher. If you have an interest in Philosophy, it will do worlds for you, but if not, you're in for a rough semester. Requires lots of outside reading. Go to the S.I. sessions!

This professor was horrible. His tests were ridiculous and consisted mostly of essay question. The problem was that each essay question had a number of impossible questions within them. His assignments are very time consuming and he acts as if you have no other classes. Seriously, if you must take this class, don't take any other class that semeste

Online Course spring...express lane. Assignments seemed overwhelming, but I hate writing. I got through it with an A so he must be a good teacher. Liked the online format with discussions and peer review. He was always there to lend a hand when floundering. Overall it ended up being a great experience.

I took the online course, which was the most difficult class I had in 69 credit hours at MCCC. It was nice to have to work for my "A" for a change! He gives very thorough feedback on work, so you know he really read it all- and there is a lot. He spells everything out clearly, making it possible for someone clueless in the subject to succeed.

Doc Holladay is a very wise man. i enjoyed his class a lot. he expects a lot out of you so do not take this class if you think its going to be a blow off class. he adds humor to the class but he is soft spoken, so hes hard to hear at times. i enjoyed his western phil. class and i would love to take another class with him. dont miss class!!

He talks very soft and you can barely hear him. He doesnt answer questions very throughly and kind of knit pics at them and then you have no idea what the answer was. His tests arent that easy and he has lots of essay questions on it.

Online class. The class was a lot of work, but he graded fairly as long as he saw you put forth the effort. Blood sweat and tears, but very rewarding upon completion. Very do-able

I learned a lot in this class. It takes a little bit of wit to understand his humor, but humor is there.Quizes are difficult even though you can use notes, because you need to literally copy the text word for word in order to pass them. Use common sense, keep up on work, don't be afraid to ask questions, DON'T MISS CLASS, and you can pass this class. I recommend this teacher to anyone who really wants to learn about proper English. Also, sit closer to the front so you can actually hear him.

Doc Holladay is one tough cookie, but worth every bit of energy spent in this class. My writing ability has improved dramatically and my vocabulary as well! He can be a bit dry, but if you are paying attention his sardonic wit is hilarious! I love this guy! I would definitely take him again!

He talks too soft, doesn't go over the reading very well, and doesn't explain further to those who don't understand.

philosophy should be a discussion class not a lecture class. it had the potential to be a great class but failed.
