Comment:

Was in VIS325 and 401 simultaneously. Prof Massey is one weird prof, I was between love and hate all term long, but eventually came to love his style because he's very genuine in what he's doing and saying. He offered the best insight into the contemporary art world I got in the VIS program so far. Just bear with him :)

Though he seemed like a nice person, and a good artist, he was not the best drawing teacher. He did not seem able to offer alot of technical advice on improvement.

Very somber, insecure, and unpredictable individual who changes his mind to the complete opposite all the time. The point of his assignments is to "guess" correctly what he would like, since "skill" and "appearance of the work" is never evaluated.

I thought he was pretty nice, and encouraging. I agree that drawing isn't his thing, and that was what he was supposed to be teaching...but over all I didn't think he did that bad of a job.

This man was obviously beaten up on the schoolyard by the cool kids--never have I met a more insecure or condescending professor. He is pretentious and easily threatened by his students and seems to know nothing about what he's supposed to be teaching.
