Who does he think he is. He is a terrible professor and I cant believe he is in charge of the labs. If you want to do well ask TAs for help( if u get a good one which isnt likely) and read carefully. He is a pain and unapproachable, ud hv better luck talking to a dog than him. He will not help u and disrespect u for no reason.

The two ppl at the lower portion of the page are full of **** Oross is the biggest piece of **** this school has to offer. Very rude and offensive I did well in the labs all on my own. His final is hard but I managed a high score. He shld not be allowed to interact with students and prob has a soc disorder but ur stuck with him for 2 quarters.

This guy is the worst person I ever seen in UCR. He never know anything about biology. He has very bad temper, and very little knowledge. You would never call such a guy "professor", he is just a coordinator.

My theory on why he has such poor ratings is because Dr. Oross interacts with mostly first years inexperienced with the ways of the world. Dr. Oross is very fair and skillfully average without giving anyone special treatment. He adequately runs a department deficient in resources. It's tough love, but he definitely has a heart. He does what he can.

course is not hard. lab manuals, which are written by oross, are unclear on what is expected in your graded work. little feedback unless you attend office hours. you are SOL if your classes conflict w/ OH's. oross's philosophy: give no guidelines > you lose pts = great lesson. keeping oross at any UC is a disservice to the state of cali.

This guy really, REALLY makes me mad. The most useless academic coordinator ever. UCR needs to kick this guy out. I waited 2 quarters to get into a bio5a class and i still have not gotten in. i never had to struggle so much just to get into a class. other departments let me in even when full but this guy does not help at all. he just doesnt care

Very unorganized. Review session was a waste of time. The final wasn't as hard as it was made out to be; KNOW THE LEARNING OUTCOMES!!!!! The guy was a joke during the final exam. He yelled random nonsense across UNLH for nearly 20 minutes. I would never take this guy for an actual class; he apparently has no interest to teach.

some people are saying he is helpful, he is not. I have gone into office hours, and he yelled at some of my questions, saying they were disrepectful to him ... I just wanted some clarity on an issue. His grading seems impossible. BAD, but you don't have much choice, he is the only guy.

I agree. Some comments were probably made by people who failed the course and who cheated. Don't listen to bad comments!!! Dr. Oross seems intimidating at first but he is really helpful. He grades super hard though. You'll have to work very hard to get good grade. He is willing to help you when there are concerns about course materials.

I dont know what everyone is smoking, but Dr. Oross is one of the nicest professrs out there. He comes across as intimidating at first, but once he knows that you are putting time and effort into lab, he is always willing to help you. Granted his final was difficult, but he's just giving u a wake up call on what is soon to come.

Overall i think he is a really nice guy; he looks intimidating, but is really approachable. he wants you to be able to master techniques in lab so you dont have to waste time readjusting the microscope for each slide. Lab just depends on how good your T.A., they basically grade everything you have and Oross just gives the grades.
