Great professor and a lot of fun. You'll learn to appreciate film (whether you're in his film class or not) and if you show up at his office hours you can have some great conversations. You'll learn a lot from him. There should be a class called "Life Lessons" taught by Turner. Just don't expect to stay on topic.

Amazing. Brilliant. Technological inept, but makes up for it with everything else. Gives clear answered, well versed in the topic at hand. Knows lots about film and music. And the legendary tangents. Goes off topic, but still manages to be interesting at all times. I think I learned more through tangents than I did in all of high school. Great guy.

Be prepared to have your hand up for a very very long time. While he is nice and great, and he and Micheal Curry are phenomenal at teaching ISP...he will talk you to sleep, back awake again, and consequently to death.

John Turner is one of the most interesting professors, and that's saying a LOT! Not to mention probably one of the smartest guys ever. He's very helpful and laid-back and I always felt comfortable approaching him with questions. Watch out for his insane tangents though.

i've had turner for a class almost every semester that i have been at goucher and he is just as amazing now as he was when i first got here. he is an incredible professor and man, an insane genius, and he is one of the reasons i stayed at this school: he is a great representation of what a professor SHOULD be.

John is one of my favorite teachers of all time. You can learn more just from listening to him ramble once than you can from a whole semester with another teacher. He tell the best stories, even if they are occasionally inappropriate :-) I'd give him a 10 if possible.

He's fun to have as a teacher- he can definatly hold your attention, but he likes to call on people randomly, so be prepared!! Lots of daily quizzes, but don't worry about getting your papers in on time- he dosn't really how late you hand them in...

this guy is amazing, i loved listening to his tangents about the most random yet related stuff. random quizzes were annoying but the class wasn't too hard, really works with you and you don't have to turn stuff in on time at all.
