God I love Jonathan Kamholtz. A year down the line and his lit courses remain the best I've ever taken. I've never had another lit prof who comes close to the level of expertise, involvement, depth, commitment, multifaceted perspective, and pure passion this guy has for his work. A+ I want to have coffee w this guy every week and listen to him talk

Not sure why people think his classes are difficult. All you literally have to do is read his assignments and know how to write a paper.

Professor Kamholtz is awesome! I took both English Studies and Shakespeare with him and those were the two most valuable undergraduate courses I have taken. He certainly expects a lot from his students, but that's the kind of professor that you want if you want an in-depth English class. I would take him again in a heartbeat.

Kamholtz approached the study of Shakespeare in a really systematic and meaningful way. I went into the class dreading Shakespeare and came out really appreciating the subject. While he sometimes expects you to read entire plays in a short amount of time, I would definitely encourage other to take his course as he makes the subject accessible.

Dr Kamholtz is extremely knowledgeable about British literature and clearly has a passion for it. However his actual teaching style is somewhat lacking. He is confusing, does not return nearly any grades and his tests are unbelievable.

Professor Kamholtz is the greatest! Arguably the best professor I've ever had. He is hilarious, amusing, and very intelligent, and his lectures are not only enjoyable, but informative. His grading technique can be tough, but he is always willing to work with students to help them improve their grades. I would take Kamholtz every class if I could.

Professor Kamholtz is awesome. One of the most interesting professors ever. He is hilariously funny and does such a great job at making the difficult literature comprehensible to the students. He is also very fair with grading and makes the homework assignments clear even though they are tough. He is very accessible and available. Great guy.

Fantastic professor. Funny, charming, intelligent. Allows the entire class to ask questions that spark spontaneous but organic discussion on material. Kind and understanding. Instructions are sometimes long and confusing, but overall I loved this prof

This professor is amazing! He is so incredibly knowledgeable about Shakespeare, and gives so many new and insightful views when it comes to his plays. His attendance is not mandatory, but he will not allow make-up work for days missed. His final was pretty intense, but if you read and show up to class you will do really well.

A-mazing! I was dreading Brit Lit but Kamholtz brought the material to life with witty, modern comparisons. He is not easy by far, but he gives you many options to receive a good grade. If you put in the effort and take note of his comments an A is possible. I highly recommend him!

Dr. K is wonderful! He is very engaging & passionate about what he teaches, & that is apparent to the class. He is hysterical but without trying. He's probably my second favorite English prof thus far. He expects a lot but in a way to encourage critical thinking. I suggest him to anyone taking uper level English courses.

(Survey of Eng. Lit) Worked my tail off and got a C-. Assigns an unfair and unrealistic amount of work for a student taking 2 other lit classes. Exam was ALL writing, and took me the entire 2 hours to finish. Only take this class if all of your other classes are easy and light work.

I'm not sure why people have difficulty with his class. We occasionally had straightforward quizzes on the reading and we got to choose which passages to write about. There were 9 to choose from and grades were only counted for the top 3 response option grades. The final had many choices and he was really helpful for my writing.Fun class all in all

Professor Kamholtz engages the whole class and encourages everyone to voice their opinions about the literature and draw their own conclusions. I do not recommend him if you don't like literature and just need the credit. This class is recommended for majors only because it is very in depth. But, it's not that hard if English is your thing.

This man is a true teacher. Yes, you will work quite hard for an A+ (ha! and I did it!), but, he rewards his students for thinking. So many profs just spew out cliff notes and then give a standardized test! (Yawn) What's the point? If you truly desire to learn--and not just 'get through' one more class--he can make learning so enjoyable! Go Dr. K!

Kamholtz is simply brilliant! I've never worked so hard for my A, but I enjoyed every minute of it. I knew nothing about Shakespeare coming into the course, but he made it my favorite class. He really values resourcefulness and unique thoughts! The grading was very fair--if you're looking for a prof who will open your academic eyes, hes your guy.

One of the most vital professors I have encountered. He is a true scholar who obviously loves what he does. We are lucky that he isn't hanging around in the Ivy league; even though I truthly don't know if those professors are any better. Whatever, just take one of his classes.
