Comment:

Genuinely one of the best professors I've had. She explains each topic thoroughly and is really organized. There's a lot of assignments, but her tests clearly correlate to the material so if you do the homework you'll do well on the exams. She made algebra easy for me and doesn't underestimate the intelligence of her students.

I just wanted to rate Julie Phelps on behalf of her kindness. She is a well taught and educated professor. For those that get in her class, one will be amazed because she is a professor that wants her students to get the material. Because of my F is not because I did bad in her class , I just didn't wanna learn. She tried helping me an infinitely.

Comment:

Professor Phelps is one of the best Math professors I have ever had. She takes her time to explain the content and makes sure her students is understanding. She gives so many chances for a students to pass the class! Gives detailed reviews, etc. Shes very caring an if youre willing to give your all youll pass with ease.

Get another teacher for Trig. If youre a full time student, this class will take most of your time. 1st test isnt bad / 2nd test is identifies / 3rd is take home / 4th for us was polar stuff / Final was hit or miss Has study guides, questions are different on test. Doesnt provide due dates for stuff on syllabus. Whole class was frustrated.

She is very kind and wants her students to succeed. She gave out hw problems from the textbook, posted notes online, had in class participation in groups, and 5 tests (including the final). She had review days where you were put into groups and did problems similar to the test for possible extra cred.

Dr. Phelps is by far an amazing professor, I had her for college & intermediate algebra, and I gotta say by far it's been the easiest math credit I've ever pulled through. Show up to class, take notes, ask questions if you're stuck. She'll occasionally call on people to make sure they're understanding, she knows, also free helpful textbook as well.

LISTEN TO ME, DONT TAKE HER, I felt like all she ever did was lecture in that class, shell show you several of steps just to get the answer and its just confusing, 10 mins at the end of class shell try to cram like 5 minutes of the next chapter, she assigns HW everyday & its difficult & theres a quiz almost every other week & shes not funny.

Yes, you will have to do hw through Pearson & some of the hw is redundant, but its not too bad. Professor Phelps is kind and will certainly help you understand as long as you speak up and reach out. Overall, if you want a good grade in ANY class YOU will have to put in the effort.

I took intensive algebra which is college and intermediate algebra combined. she is a good professor overall. Be prepared to go to lots of tutoring because there is just not enough time to grasp everything in class. Downside: does not answer emails, test reviews are done by other students, and do not help us prepare. intensive is taught too fast.

One of the best professors at the college! I would recommend to anyone who struggles with math and/or is looking to understand math with clarity. Offers tons of extra credit, fast with email responses, group work, clear instructions for quizzes tests and homework. Overall excellent teacher as well.

I took her my 1st semester in college (Fall 2017) and she was phenomenal!!! I loved how she taught, & she gave out so much extra credit, & reviews to all the tests, her takes her office hours seriously, & is a super fair grader. Gives great notes and if you ever have trouble with something she is there to help! Don't hesitate, TAKE HER CLASS!!!

She is a great teacher! In high school I used to struggle in math but with Dr Phelps I understood everything so well that I had an A in math class. There is a lot of extra credit, homework, it does not depends only on test or quizes. Free Text book.

Amazing teacher! I took her for a double math course, intermediate/college alg. I don't understand math easily, but what's great about this prof. is that she takes the time to explain. There was also something called an SL leader for this course, he attended class and held tutoring too. Tons of extra credit! Take her, you won't regret it!

Amazing teacher, funny, and caring. 7 tests during the class, it sounds a lot but it will give you the chance to improve your grades. couple quizzes, some group projects it will boost your grade. she explain the meterial really well i hate math im really bad at it but she made me understandit and there is a guy that will help you in the class .

Took Professor's Phelps' intensive course 1033/1105 and glad I did after 10 yrs of being out of school. With hard work and using all the resources she offers this class is an EASY A. She will make you work for it, but will be there every step of the way. Pay's attention to every student and really cares for each and every one. Free Textbook.

Dr. Phelps is the best teacher EVER! Whether you're a fast or slow learner, she is always there to help you. She treats you like an individual and not a number. She truly cares for all of her students which is hard to find in a math professor. I recommend sitting in front of the class and visiting her during office hours. Ask questions!

Dr. Phelps is by far the best professor I have ever had. She is extremely helpful and even though she goes fast she encourages you to ask for extra help if you need it. She makes sure her students understand the material before she moves on to the next thing. She gives test reviews for practice before the actual test. Her sense of humor is amazing.
