I happened to be changing registration for a different class and saw these last two reviews. They were totally off base. Dr. Briggs is exactly the reason that someone should be in college: she make you think and work, she gives you real feedback (even if you don't like it) and she makes every class fun. One of my best class experiences to date.

This class was ultimately a waste of my time. This was Briggs' first time with this course, and it showed. She talked about subjects we all were already aware of, and she went through a whole phase in which she penalized us for not using semicolons. Yeah. She overcomplicates simple prompts and isn't very clear - but maybe that was just this class.

Professor Briggs was one of the most annoying professors I've had. She drives me nuts and she acts like a granola bar.

I had her for my honors class "Idenentity, Education, and Culture" and I honestly hated the class. The class was just reading, and all of the readings were online and most of them were redundent to each other. I found them dull and uneducational. The discussions were lack-luster, one sided, and lacked any real structure. She is nice though.

I had a great time in HON100C: "Thinking and Writing in Honors" class. She puts a lot of effort into shaping her students to become better writers and truly cares how well students do in the class. All essays and in-class writing is read aloud to the class by the student. I think this is one of the best aspects of the class.

Awesome professor. Come to class on time and participate since it is seminar-style. If you don't already like to write, once you take this class you will.

She was fabulous. Though she can be a bit out there sometimes, the class was great and I definitely learned a lot. Stay on top of your work, and don't let your cell phone ring in class, and you're good to go.

Such an amazing class...I found her a little sketchy at first, but it was one of the best experiences of my college career so far.

Words cannot describe what an incredibly amazing person and teacher she is. The consumate educator; she sacrafices and gives herself totally to her students. You won't ever meet another like her. I've learned more about myself as a man, as a person, through her than I had in 20yrs previous.

A class that changed my life! Katlin is an excellent professor with a knack for inspiring a sense of confidence in her students' writings. While her air might seem a little pretentious, it is very clear that she has the utmost concern for her students.
