Madame Erickson is very nice and she sings a lot in class. If you want to take this class you should make sure that you know French well, because she doesn't teach you French anymore. You are taught how to read and analyze poems, novels and plays in French. It's a lot of reading and even more writing. She grades very strict all the essays.

Wow, all I can say is you lucked out. She is THE NICEST person and very lenient. By far one of my favorite professors EVER! I love Karen Erickson! The workload isn't much at all and you just go over exercises in the book during class. The orals are not bad either, she helps you out so much & is not a tough grader. Can't say enough good things.

She is a very nice person and can be a good teacher depending on how you learn. But if you learn from from traditional teaching methods she is horrible. By this I mean if you like to read a passage, translate it and then make corrections. I found class to be a general waste of time.

Karen is the best french teacher I have ever had. She is very respectful of her students and tries to use a variety of teaching to accomidate all of her students' needs. She will not move on to new material if even one student is confused. I had Villette last semester so I am well prepared.

Karen may be the most genuinely nice person I have ever met. She is kind, attentive, an easy grader, good at explaining. Overall, a fantastic teacher. I'm taking her for 212 right now simply because I enjoyed 211 with her so much.
