Dr. Cleland is a gem! He definitely challenges his students to be their best musician selves, but its all very clear and everything that is graded is clearly and thoroughly covered in class. Hes very kind and understanding and works with each student at their level and is available to help.

Comment:

Transitioning in Dr. C's teaching style from a different Harmony background wasn't easy: Cleland can be tough. Nevertheless, if you put in the effort, he will not give up on you. He's a genuine guy who tries to make music theory enjoyable. Very much the person you want to have on your side to help with anything, class-related or not.

I love Dr. Cleland. He's like a father almost. He's not afraid to smile and laugh in class, and he's not pretentious at all. He's very willing to help and really wants to see students succeed.

Dr. Kent Cleland was a great Director. I feel bad for him because of the crap he had to deal with! One of the most humble and honest men I have ever met! Thank Goodness he is done as director so he doesn't have to deal with certain professors in the Con who think they are all high and mighty! *Hint* Go look at the music ed prof's ratings!

Serialist music loving **** who hates all tonal music. Needs to realize that serial music is hated by all outside of academia and that fixed do is unproductive and makes everyone's sight reading go down the crap whole. Needs a serious reality check.
