Comment:

I have taken many science classes at the college level due to my indecisiveness in my major choice. I had already learned about all of the topics covered so it was really nice to have a professor who was knowledgeable about actual field applications. He does fumble over words and get frustrated but that's only when students try to talk over him.

Comment:

While Lechko may be knowledgable in the subject, teaching is certainly not his calling and would be a better fit in a laboratory. His lack of communication skills and proclivity to become aggitated when asked a question creates an uncomfortable classroom environment and makes a relatively easy course much more difficult to navigate

Comment:

Lechko knows what he's talking about, but he "teaches" like everyone knows the material. He isn't very clear, and his tests are difficult. BUT he drastically curves all of them and usually lets you use a cheat sheet that is the size of a legal pad (8.5" × 14"). Write small, you can fit a lot! Take home test questions are Google friendly.

I have taken 150 semester credit hours, and Lechko is by far the worst instructor I've come across. Although he has good knowledge of the subject, he has absolutely no people skills. He doesn't listen to any student concerns and constantly put down students. He is extremely arrogant and does not take criticism. Should confined to research only.

ITSELF ITSELF ITSELF ITSELF. If you like hearing this word over and over and over, then I say take him, but if you are like most people and get annoyed with hearing one phrase over and over agin, DO NOT TAKE HIM. His tests are ridiculously hard, the questions do not make sense, and he messes up the grading on every one of them.

Very unorganized. Easily aggrivated with student questions. Tests are extremely hard, to the point that he uses a massive curve and throws out multiple questions. Takehome quizzes and homework answers cannot be found in the text. Lab exams are not specifically from the lab. Very affrivating man! Have come home in tears many times this semester.

Terrible, I had this man for lab and lecture in bio 1100 and dropped the course after one class. It didn't take more than 5 minutes in his lecture to realize he is very confusing. Doesn't relate topics well, doesn't answer questions. Repeats the word itself after everything. DOESN'T FOLLOW SYLLABUS, and doesn't alert you when he varies from it.

Had him Fall 09 lab only, and found him easy to understand but he has a tendency to ramble. Does enjoy making tests hard for the students (odd). Have to take notes-exams have a difficult format, and often have scantron mistakes. Gets aggrevated with students easily. Overall a strange little man, but knowledgable. Socially awkward to say the least.

Smart man-ok teacher. Not many people understand what he's talking about, covers to much material at one time. He teaches like we already know the material inside and out. His goal seems to be to get through the material as quickly as possible. Despite providing study guides and allowing cheat sheets for the tests, the tests are hard to pass.

he does like to talk! i think that overall, this is a very intelligent man who enjoys what he teaches. he is fair and really does try to get the students to understand. anyone looking for any easy A should not be a college student. but if you are willing to put in the work, he is willing to help you!

he's a terrible instructor but a nice guy. it's an easy A if you can stand the lectures...he yells the entire lecture, it's pointless and attendance is mandatory. he says the word 'itself' at the end of almost every sentence, can't answer qs during class, is a little creepy, tells stories that don't teach you anything, and is hard to look at.
