Dr. Geotz is the WORST professor ever. She assigns too many papers & projects then grades them harshly if they do not meet her personal beliefs/stances on a certain issue. She also gives out work last minute, & expects everyone to turn it in on time. If you are a Spanish major, then you are stuck with her and must take every single class with her.

Goetz is a really good prof. Be prepared to work A LOT (I mean several hours a night). If you do the work you will do great in her class and she is always very nice and pretty forgiving for grading.

This was a class about teaching languages. She would often speak spanish when there were people teaching french, german, and esl in the class too. She speaks so fast and takes 20/50min talking about spanish club. Does not have clear instructions for anything she gives and marks quizzes wrong when you give the same answer in class and she says right

Goetz is clearly uncaring of her students situations, as she creates required assignments across the state for freshmen who arent allowed to have their cars on campus, and tells them it is essentially their fault. Only cares about you if you are in Spanish club. Would not take again, even if you paid me.

Critically lacking in her abilities to convey course material in a comprehensive manner, she relies heavily on textbooks and will slam you with homework each week expecting you to absorb information without her help. You will calculate your own grades. When you ask her about your grade, expect to be met with a snappy attitude. Just don't speak up.

LOTS OF HOMEWORK!. Listen to a song, watch a movie, do some vocab work, write an essay (in spanish) and do book work all in ONE night! However, once you get used to her, you will see you can skip some.. nice lady. We sing in class everyday... kinda babyish. Know your conjugation tho and you'll pass the quizzes (every friday)

So much homework every night. It's like she doesn't realize students take this class because they have to, not because they want to. I have more work for this class than my major and minor classes. It's ridiculous and difficult. Find a different professor.

Must come to class. Lots of homework and papers but not a hard grader. Doesn't always focus so much on vocab. NO TESTS only small quizzes. Can be tough and rude at some points but you have to do something to her for this. Must pay attention in class.

Went with her on a study abroad trip in Spain. One to three papers a night, demanded that any questions be given in Spanish even for students who were taking lower level courses. The entire trip she would interrupt the other professor, William Holliday especially when visiting historic sites. Logistically inept. Do not go overseas with her.

Safe yourself and do not take a class with this woman. I have never in my life met a more controlling and immature teacher. If she was able to breathe and relax a little she would be a great teacher because it is clear she knows her stuff..however that is not the case. If you dont want mass amounts of stress, take another teacher's class.

She was hands down the best Spanish teacher I have ever had! I took 1 year in middle school & 3 years in high school and still barely knew anything, i thought i would be unprepared for 201 but she did a review & retaught material when needed & i actually learned the language in her class! she gives a lot of homework but it HELPS!

Dr. Goetz is awesome. She knows what she's talking about and speaks like a native Spaniard. She does give a lot of work, but it really helps reinforce the language. She's very energetic, makes class interesting, and organizes great cultural activities... just make sure you show up for class, do your work, and don't be afraid to ask for help whenever you need it. Also, her trips abroad are really fun.
