Take her! You are guaranteed a B in the class by meeting the requirements (10/10 on assignments). If you want to get higher than a B, you need to put in effort and get 11/10 on assignments. She is caring, understanding, and easy to talk to. Make sure you go to class and turn everything in on time if not it will bring your grade down.

Im glad I switched to Haas. She does assign plenty of homework, but I think every writing class gives a lot of homework. She very helpful and gives great feedback. Her grading is fair as well. As long as you do homework, then youre guaranteed a B. I just wish she gave feed back on our final so we know what we need to work on as we move on.

I think Haas was a great professor, she's actually really nice and approachable. I was trying to take her for 39C but it's full so I'm going to wait on it for another quarter because she really is the best. A lot of homework, but put in the minimal effort and pass with a B. She makes it easy for you and its online based. I really did enjoy her clas

Professor Haas's grade contract is very simple: You're guaranteed 85% for the final grade and if you put in good effort for every assignment, you'll earn extra credits that are counted into the final grade. Created a website for final portfolio and our group project was to produce a podcast. Her assignments are doable and she is fair with grading.

Tons of homework each week. Creating a website for podcast project, doing a podcast recording and editing also presentations and many other things. Spend more than 10 hrs and more for all the homework per week.

Prof. Haas is great, but since writing 37 is a combo class, be prepared to do A LOT of work. Weeks 1-5 were okay but from week 6 and onward, there is A LOT of work coming. I wouldn't recommend taking her with Bio and Chem as a 1st year because her class is a lot of work and it'll take your time out from studying. Easy B if you do the minimum work.

Her class has a lot of homework but they all help to boost your grade at the end. Her grade contract is super helpful and guarantees a solid B if you do all the required work. Get ready for a lot of research and dedication into what you're researching. Also prepare yourself for the research paper because it's a pain. Overall very dedicated lecturer

Amazing! At first the amount of work she gives is overwhelming, but it's totally doable; the type/amount of work stays consistent throughout the whole quarter, so there is a routine and nothing unexpected. The key for her class is to LISTEN to what she says (she tells you exactly what to do). Lots of group work. GUARANTEED B, effort rqd. for an A.

For Wrting 39B, her class theme was Sherlock Holmes, which she is very passionate about. It is a very interesting subject too, you're gonna be reading Sherlock Holmes novels and analytical papers. You'll then be writing your own analytical papers on Sherlock Holmes. There is also group projects alot. Class isn't so hard, just work for the A.

Honestly one of the best teachers in UCI. I'm not the best writer at all, but taking her class really improved and refined my writing skills. Shes extrememly accessible outside of class, she literally lets you text her and video call her if you dont have time to meet up with her for office hours. However, you have to really work for an A

A great professor. Gives solid feedback and grades well. Keeps topics interesting & helps you succeed. There's a lot of hw, so it becomes a time vampire. The hw is easy, but a lot of it is a waste. Some is helpful in your final essays & portfolio however. Just try not to procrastinate and don't have other demanding classes or things in your life.

Professor Haas is extremely approachable and friendly. She provides helpful feedback in essays; make sure to follow her rubric to do well. Workload is surely doable. I took her for WR37 and 39C and enjoyed both courses; there are group projects but this actually helps w/ the learning process. She makes learning the topics fun, take her if you can!

I was afraid to take writing 39C, but Professor Haas made me love the course! I definitely liked her method of teaching and thought it was quite effective. This has been by far one of my favorite courses at UCI and I believe Dr. Haas' dedication to the theme was a reason for this. Take her! Her workload can be heavy, but definitely doable!

If you want an "easy A" DO NOT take this class. Everything you turn in will automatically get you a B, but if you're looking for more than that, you're going to have to work your butt off. Even though there's a bunch of work to do, it's all designed to make you grow as a writer. Take her if you're up for the challenge.
