Professor Hoffman is very passionate about procedure and will make a huge effort to explain it to his students. Ask questions and he will literally repeat himself as long as needed. He takes time from his class to let students talk practice problems out.

Prof. Hoffman builds his class in a way that provides students with the most practical approach to complex subjects. He literally gives you all the tools you need to succeed in the class, and you most certainly get back what you put into it. Highly recommend!

Prof. Hoffman is great! He genuinely cares about the student's learning and he has a passion for his subject, which makes the class enjoyable. He focuses on a handful of topics within the course instead of trying to cram a whole textbook into the course. He provides his own course materials, so no textbook required. Practice problems are great!

Absolutely amazing! His classes are recorded, he has practice problems at the end of every chapter, and we did not have to buy a book for his class! He really cares about his students, and wants them to succeed! He is very nice and always available! Hands down my favorite prof!

Class is utterly pointless. HIs exam had two predictable questions and that was completely arbitrary. Make a very complete outline to take into your final. And it's true, he is completely obsessed with hearing himself speak although, it lacks any clarity 70% of the time.

Lonny is arrogant. He's positive he is the God of Procedure. Be prepared for zingers if you speak up, but do it anyway. Otherwise he won't respect you. Our exam was crazy -- obviously thrown together at the last moment. On a SCANTRON he told us to pick 3 choices. Can bring your notes in with you. Make sure they're complete.

Hoffman took great care to help us practice procedure problems, developing the most elaborate tutoring system I've seen. Some have noted he is in love with himself, which is true. He doesn't write a great exam (either too obscure or too easy), but it wasn't as bad as some I've taken.

Worst teacher I've had at UH. Aside from his own arrogance and narcissism, he manages to take the most practical of subjects and turn it into nothing but hypothetical nonsense. Additionally, his reading assignments are nearly impossible to keep up with. Take someone else for Procedure II.
