Comment:
As an instructor, he's not always the most clear in the classroom, but is pretty much always willing to go over what you don't know, as long as you admit that you don't know. Our class got a bit vocal about what was fair to test and what was unfair and he actually took it pretty well.

Comment:
The professor is famous, but he is not a good instructor since he does not know how to teach. He emphasises a lot that he is a professor but not a teacher and he will not teach again the knowledge he talked in class during the office hours. He is conceited. The lectures were unstructured and his calculation made everyone confused.

Comment:
He is a very approachable and makes lectures entertaining and interesting. Very intelligent guy and expects his students to atleast read the material beforehand (which you should, cumon this IS math). As for all the negative comments, he has improved considerably and is very passionate about what he teaches.

Comment:
Lectures are entertaining, but don't expect to get much actual knowledge from them. His TAs were a mixed bag. One was fair, the other was completely lazy and did not even grade the assignments, he just assigned some grade and gave you back the assignment without a mark on it. NYU has a very, very bad set of math TAs, for the most part.

Comment:
Lectures remind a random walk over the topics. Often doesn't slow down on difficult moments and avoids complete proofs. The good way to go through his course is to read the topics beforehand. Get a set of good books: Shreve, Oksendal. Get ready to spend a lot of time solving homework problems. Don't miss problem sessions. His TA's are fair graders.

Pretty good if you come to class having looked at the material beforehand, otherwise you will probably be totally lost. Overall, he's a nice guy, althoughy he can be testy during his office hours, and he gives easy problem sets.

Awful, absolutely positively AWFUL! The worst professor ever. He showed up late everyday, and it took him an entire semester to teach not even half of the calculus material we need to know to move to Calc 2. RETARD!

If you have no calc background good luck. He speaks with a heavy italian accent and writes like he is 5. The class is generally large so if you dont hear/understand him the first time (which you wont) you will have a hell of a semester playing catch up
