Don't take him in the morning. He toughs very very tough & his attendance is 100% mandatory. I did perfect speeches, but I got a B in the class for showing up 5 minutes late on one speech. Hate him and I had a bad experience with him. Looks can be deceiving.

Matt is an awesome teacher, he is funny and likes to mess with his class. Be sure to get the word um out of your vocabulary because he will knock you on that! Easy class, and he is very helpful. Three graded speeches and two tests. I recommend him however be ready to work and if your a slacker dont take his class!!

One word = HILARIOUS!! Matt is the funniest professor I've ever had. He tells it like it is and makes sure you know you're saying "UM" in the practice speeches. He grades tough on your speeches and expects them to be good, but in the end it is all worth taking his class. Cool guy, Great teacher, Take his class. Hi Matt! :)

Matt is very good at two things: Making people better public speakers and making people laugh. His class was the most fun experience I have had in a college classroom. The lectures suck because its so much information but pay attention, it will help your speeches. Great professor and great class even if he does like FSU. GO CANES

Wasn't a hard class at all... No idea where people get that idea, was probably one of the easiest classes I've ever taken. I took this class as a minisemester during the summer with 4 other classes and still completed it with an A with very little effort at all.

Prof Matt is awesome! he rocks! you have to do a lot of work but is for your best. He helps you if you have a doubt on something. His class is fun and you learn a lot. makes public speaking confortable. Take him if you have to take speech class. This class was very easy but the teacher was very unhelpful, did not answer ANY of your questions, and makes you feel very uneasy and uncomfortable before you present your speech. He favors guys over girls and makes fun of you and degrates you in front of the whole class. Does this sound like a teacher you want?

He is laid back and makes jokes throughout the class but don't let that fool you. He grades extremely hard and expects a lot from you. If you really want to learn about how to give a speech correctly and learn something while having fun I would recommend him. But he does make fun of you (not during speeches)...
