Great teacher. Takes dry material and makes it interesting and engaging. Very fair in grading, tough class, but communicates everything effectively and tells you exactly what will be covered on each exam. Go to office hours for help on all the lab assignments and labs and youll make an A.

Really good professor who makes engaging and fun lectures. The homework and labs were evenly and fairly spread out. The test were homework questions with numbers changed (also he tells you exactly what questions from the homework is on the test). Really makes an effort to be a good professor.

CS1000 is a requirement by the COE to get a CS degree. It's a complete joke, and I honestly think that it's just a plan by the COE to get their enormous course fee from freshmen who have no idea what they want to do. This class is 80% attendance & 20% hw based on ONE paper that if turned in, you get 100%. Easy A, bad class & professor. Switch to IT

Only thing that matter is attendance. Class is solely graded on attendance and participation, with only 1 homework assignment. Classes are mostly people from industry or related fields coming in to give a presentation.

Going to lecture AND office hours in mandatory for this course. There are many labs and homework assignments that are take home, but there is absolutely no way to look up questions that you have when you get stuck because of how specific and outdated the assembly language used in this class is. Tough class but not bad if you don't fall behind.

Jurczyk is a tough grader Hes demanding and detailoriented Learning Assembly requires close attention to registers and processorbehavior and he will take points for missing anything However the class is interesting Hes obviously enthusiastic about the material-he makes an effort to learn students names and ask the class questions Great prof!

Comment:
Professor Jurczyk is exceptionally knowledgeable about the assembly language and shows it in his lectures. His lectures contain all of the information you will need for the course and are as entertaining as possible given the course content. The grading is tough, but reasonably so, and has clear criteria. He clearly enjoys teaching this course.

Comment:
Jurczyk's class will be very challenging if you don't easily grasp the material. He explains the concepts very well, but Assembly is very difficult. Very tough grader, but curves the class in the end. Be careful on labs/homework, small mistakes will cost lots of points. Exams are like the homework, but on a time limit. Take thorough notes!

Comment:
His lectures are boring but you have to show up or you'll fail. The homeworks and labs are worth a lot and they require lots of time but you can always ask for help and he will help. The exams are jokes: he gives you the questions in advance (in class only)

Networks was one of the most tedious classes I have taken. The material is incredibly interesting and Dr. Jurczyk is a decent lecturer, but all of the assignments and tests were awful. The problems weren't relevant, the grading was incredibly inconsistent, and he didn't give enough time to finish the midterm. Try to get someone else for this class.

Jurczyk is a great guy. CS1000 is taught by mainly guest speakers, so I didn't get to have him for many classes. This course is really an introduction to computer science, so it is an easy A+ if you go to every class and do the work.

Dr. Jurczyk is a great professor, I really don't know why he's teaching CS 1000, the most boring class ever. 70% of the grade is attendance, and there's only one 2 page homework assignment. The class is mostly taught by guest speakers, and can get really long and boring, but Jurczyk really has a passion for what he does and cares about his students

Dr. Jurczyk was my favorite professor while I was at MU. There is no comparing to a teacher who describes computer operations in terms of beer factories...!
