I took this professor over the summer. Most of the students did do well on his tests because the material we did in class was not consistent with the test. Lectures were boring and he gave no other examples besides the ones in the textbook. I would not take him again. The class was very hard and I didnt feel that he was the right teacher for me.

Professor Layne is a great professor that deserves more credit. Accounting is a hard course and all but he really tries to make it fun. He engages with the class very well and tries his hardest to make it less boring then it already is. If you are having troubles feel free to send him an email or talk to him after class, he will help you a lot!

His lectures are only from the book. That's it. No additional examples just all from the book. Funny guy and lectures will be entertain and insightful if you read the textbook before each class. Very liberal grader, no clear grading rubric which could be good or bad for some. Being an accounting major no clear grading rubric was a no for me.

THIS GUY IS GREAT! Never will you find an accounting professor who is less dull. He makes a dry subject entertaining and engages the class with jokes to keep attention and move the topic along. Helpful, personable, friendly. Not an easy class, if you mistake his kindness for weakness you are likely to do poorly.

Very funny and friendly. Obviously ACC 102 is not an easy course but he makes it fun. He is willing to go out of his way and take the time for anyone he needs further assistance. Any low grades in this class is on the student. GREAT PROFESSOR!

Very Funny and sarcastic man, he seems to think hes helping the students most of the time but sometimes hes so off topic he loses track and doesn't explain clearly at all. if you don't naturally have an understanding for accounting you'll have a hard time like 90% of my class. Go see Bob, that's the only way i got through it. he expects you to know

Nice man but thinks students should pick up on material immediately. If you need help you're better off going to see Bob in the accounting lab for a tutoring session in which you will learn. I think he's tired of always teaching the same thing and just don't care anymore.

You don't want to take a proffesor like him for such a complex class. He's is not helpful, during the whole semester he taught only 2 or 3 lectures the rest is left for you to do on your own. He does not have a good rating from me. Waste of money and time :-(

Class wasn't too easy but it's accounting you really have to try and do your work. I spent plenty of time in the accounting lab to understand everything. He is a cool guy pretty funny also. If you aren't a waste of life take this class and you should do good.

wow!! this is the ONLY class in nassau that I got a C in. Sure he is nice and funny but WHO THE **** CARES? a teacher ought to know how to teach and he can't. don't listen to the positive comments on him cuz i graduated from nassau in honors and this guy stinks at teaching.Expect to teach yourself.

Took him during Spring 04, class started with 34 students by the last day finished with 5 Students- yes 5! the class average was a 54 out of a 100, i know alot of the students at Nassau are not the brighest but 54avg, ended up dropping class last day
