Comment:

Amazing professor but hard subject. Must be on your toes with assignments and readings, can't fall back or it will be hard to catch up. One of my favorite profs on campus, wish he taught other classes.

Comment:

Professor makes exams extremely difficult. Study everything, take good notes, dont miss class, and if in the hybrid class, dont get behind on video lectures. The textbook reading isnt really necessary, but can be helpful for things you were confused on from the lectures. Have to do 10 hearing tests - can be a pain to coordinate with classmates.

Comment:

Audiology is a difficult subject but Professor Peterson makes lectures easy to understand. However, tests are not easy. You must study all the material he goes over in class and on his lecture casts. Two projects, get started on them as soon as possible. On a positive note, final is not cumulative.

Comment:

I loved Dr. Peterson and have never learned so much as I did about anything. He is so nice and answered ALL of my questions in office hours. (I had a lot of questions as audiology is not my thing.) He makes you work hard for your grade, and I felt because of that, I learned so much and found the course to be rewarding.

Requires 2 Audiogram projects. Make sure you take into account time for these projects(class schedule).The first one can only be done during department hrs because you need to check out an audiometer. Same for the second project, they must be done on computers in the department, but you have the option of purchasing the computer program for home.

He's is a good teacher. Lectures are clear, but can be overwhelming especially since they run longer. A recorder is a must. If you review your notes once, youll get the info. Exams are not cumulative, but you must still know info from previous exams. They are difficult. Mostly multiple choice, but cannot guess answers. Ex. A & B but not C.

I loved taking 402 with Dr.Peterson. Not all exam questions are purely based on power points. You have to pay attention in class and understand the material to pass the exams. If you studied the material, then the exams will not be hard. You won't pass the class by glancing at your notes. You have to actually understand some of the material.

For these classes: 1.Unorganized in his slide notes.(He just seems to throw information on there, you have to be at lecture to decipher how they flow. He also is unorganized & doesn't update his slides.)2.Boring(Only classes in COMD where you will see most students with coffee & voice recorders)

Really good teacher. he's really nice and everything he teaches is on the test, you can count of that. He does his best to teach us and it's up to you to remember the signs for the test. defintely recommended, kinda boring sometimes..but he does his best to keep it fun.

He's a nice man. Not exactly one of the best professors I've had but he tries. I was bored in that class because I knew more sign than he did. I thought it was a little unfair that because he's an ear doctor half the questions on the ASL exams were related to ear science which has very little to do with learning sign language itself. He was ok.

Great Professor! Very laid back and accessable and starts every class with a joke (albeit not always a funny one- but he tries). Covered material well and test adequately reflected lectures/reading. Highly recommended!
