If you are ready to work and truly want to learn and grow then taKe this class. Expect to read. Nancy is an amazing teacher who cares about her students and bothers to expect a lot from you. But you know she believes you can do it, and that makes all the difference!

Amazing teacher, thought her class was super hard. As a international student, she really knows how to communicate with other cultures. She gives you the chance of getting 10% extra credit which is very helpful. I got an F on my first exam, C on my second, did all extra credit and a presentation. Ended up with a B, did not expect that ;)

The first and the best teacher I've ever had in my college experience. I came from a university and Nancy outrates all of them! I highly recommend her class! Just be sure to always read before the class, take all notes, and listen intently! She has a very nice, easy going personality and has a great sense of humor. Very chill:D

Loved her! There is a free spirit about her that you wouldn't find in another professor. Compassionate and caring, Prof Nancy is amazing and opens your eyes to social issues and the social constructs of society. I am forever grateful for taking her class.

I cannot say enough positive things about her. She really loves what she does and that's what makes class more enjoyable. She is very engaging and clear. She likes to use life stories to help teach which makes her more relatable and down to earth. READ BOOK TO PASS TESTS! I got an A in the class. It't no cake walk, but worth the effort.

Such an amazing person. You learn so much about yourself in this class. It's not the easiest class but all of the hard work is well worth it. She's willing to help if you ask and cares a lot about her students. Don't be late to her class! Attendance is important and she will call you out on it. I LOVED THIS CLASS. PROFESSOR NANCY IS BY FAR ONE OF MY BEST TEACHERS. PEOPLE DROP HER CLASS BECAUSE THEY ARE SIMPLY LAZY SHE DOESNT ACCEPT LATE WORK BUT SHE GIVES YOU PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR EXTRA CREDIT. SHE MAKES YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE WHEN GIVING YOUR SPEECHES AND SHES WILLING TO HELP YOU DO WELL. JUST SHOW UP AND PAY ATTENTION. LOVED HER.

nancy is a funny, caring, endearing professor ever! her lectures were absolutely compelling; this class truly opened by eyes about the current world. yes, there was A LOT of work involved for this class (kinda like high school) but they were all fun. :) take her class if you can!

Just finished the online class this Fall 2010 semester. My classmates and I universally decided this class is probably on of the most important classes you can take in our current 'global village' climate. Professor GH guides and coaches you each week and is very fair in her grading and feedback. I'll actually miss logging in every week! A+

I took her speech 6 class and it was challenging. She takes attendance quite seriously. She gave two tests that were pretty straightforward. A huge chunk of your grade will depend on whether or not you and your group will raise $1200 by the end of the semester.

Great professor!! Very knowledgeable and a great sense of humor. She considers her students as her children meaning that she has every intention on seeing us passing her class with the best possible grade. Great with office hours. If the class is available, take it and don't look back.

Best professor I've had at SMC. she's so smart and truly loves all her students. You'll never find anyone who does more office hrs than her, don't mistake that for an easy class. Participate and you'll do well for sure. She's such a positive model for lesbians. Btw, she wrote the book for the class as well and she takes pride in it, as she should
