Professor Waite does a good job of conveying the material from the legal writing book. However, that is as far as her assistance goes. She spends a great deal of time recounting old stories and discussing personal occurrences. She is an extremely difficult grader and is very easily irritated. Don't get up in class, steer clear of her if you can.

She spends pretty much the entire time talking about herself. Like the rest of the writing teachers, just teaches you a format of a memo, not how to master legal writing. Don't write with complex sentences and don't try to change the format at all. Write the memo exactly how the book says or just follow the examples of the appendixes.

Drafting General - Pretty tough on grading but she is probably the best writing prof. at NYLS. Would def recomend if taking a drafting class.

Waite is a picky grader. If you ahve a different writing style than she does, RUN. She is entertaining in class but wastes a lot of time talking about herself most of the time in class. She is very helpfull, explains herself but I wouldnt take her class again.

I love this woman. She is very motivating and helped me advance from a C student to a B+ student by teaching me how to write, and by not treating me like an idiot like the rest of the NYLS faculty does if you have one bad semester.
