Comment:

This class was one of the worst classes Ive ever taken at UMD. The curriculum of the class was a mess. It was an online course with tests given on campus which is fine, however, the tests are 40 multiple choice questions based off 4 chapters which were not clear at all. The class should not have been offered online since it was taught so poorly.

the tests are not as hard as everyone is saying, just watch the video lectures and you should be fine. drops the lowest test/paper. video lectures are interesting and only exams are in person. i only used the textbook to write the paper but it's not really necessary. just print the powerpoints and write down extra notes in the margins, easy class

I would say prof Wrobel is roughly above average. She is what you would expect from a professor for this class. Abnormal contains a lot of information, and it makes trying to sympathize all of the information difficult, but this prof does her best to distill the info into the most component parts. Tests are difficult but manageable, do the paper.

The PowerPoints are really dry and its hard to find the class interesting. Shes a tough grader on the paper and the essay on exams so be careful. I wish I never took this class with her

Wrobel is a great professor. I'm not sure why people are saying her exams are hard, because most of the questions came from the powerpoints. She was also a fairly easy grader as well, and she lets you drop your lowest exam or paper grade. As long as you study from the powerpoints you'll be fine.

I don't recommend Professor Wrobel or any of her classes. REALLY HARD EXAMS, too many discussions, and the powerpoints don't make sense. I suggest you take a different professor who has clearer grading criteria and more straightforwardness when it comes to exams.

Prof. Wrobel's class was awesome. The grading criteria is vert simple, 4 exams and an optional paper, write the paper and you don't have to take the 4th exam. It's all recorded lectures (which are very interesting) and discussion boards related to topics covered in discussion. She responds immediately and is very helpful.

There are 4 tests and one paper for this class. Buying the book is not necessary because her lectures come straight from the book and her tests will only ask you things talked about during lecture. Tests are straightforward with 40 MC and 2 essay questions. I got A's on the first 3 exams and paper so I didn't have to take the last exam.

I took this class online. Once you get over the fact you're just watching lectures that were recorded years ago, it isn't bad at all. I got an A on all of the exams so I didn't even have to do the research paper. Class was really easy. When she writes on the whiteboard, put an asterisk in your notes. It WILL be on the exam.

her exams are super hard. the lectures are hard to follow, because she speaks way too slow, displays no enthusiasm. i have to give her credit for being a nice lady though. other than that, she is super hard. i'm a biochemistry major student, and this is the only C i've ever gotten.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! The lectures are ok but the exams are stupid. No matter how much you study the book or listen in class the exams are Ridiculous! Exams are: A. This is a 400-level class, you're going to have to do work. There are 4 exams and an optional paper (which if you do it, she'll drop your lowest exam grade). The exams are hard, but she gives AWESOME study guides that cover exactly what's on the test. Easy grader on the papers. E-mail's really quick!!

only her and god know what she bases her tests off of. and btw, she is not that great as people say she is, she is probably the most boring professor at umd. her dry lecture has no enthusiasm, and you cant really learn alot by listening to the lecture either. i don't recommend her for 442

This may be an easy class if you can stay up. but BORINGGGGGGGG...I dropped halfway through the semester, because I just couldn't handle how boring the class was. And it's not that easy by the looks of it. seriously, just don't take child psychopathology with this woman.

slick woman leaves herself ratings. don't fall for it, the class is extremely difficult. Notes are very hard to take, and it's very very confusing. Definitely need the book to get anywehre close to a B. don't recommend

Book is not necessary so don't waste your money. The class was easy, tests aren't bad as long as you study your notes, but the class is BORING! Wrobel is one of those professors that just reads off of her overhead slide the entire class. Not much enthusiasm, nothing exciting or different. I'd rather have taken someone else.

dont need book, exams were semi-easy, but you do need to study, 40 multiple choice and you choose 5 out of 6 short answer, each exam (4 total) worth 50 points, optional paper, if you do the paper in the end she will tell you you dont have to take the final, lecture kinda boring, alot of info common sense, seems like every diease has the same cause
