I took this class as part of the REACH program (did not choose the class) and it ended up being a fun class. The professor was extremely helpful and gave in depth examples of what a speech should look and sound like. We had around 3 solo speeches while 2 were in random groups. Just be ready to do research on your chosen topics.

Comment:

Great speech professor and he truly helps student become better public speakers. I went into this course hating public speaking, but he truly did help my confidence while speaking. The class itself is easy as well, simple speeches and gives weeks to prepare for them.

he's real easy. i didnt learn much speech wise but u get the jist of it which is enough for me. only have about 4 speeches and he walks you through them, easy grader and repeats himself ALOT. i recommend him if u want an easy speech class

Prof. Cuan is pretty easy teacher. As long as assignments are turned in and you follow his directions you will get an A. You don't even need the book, so don't buy it. You do three speeches by yourself and one with a group.

I really enjoyed this class. Mr. Cuan is fair and puts the class at ease. The only part of the class I didn't enjoy was the final group project; only because my group wasn't very good at communicating. I did the project twice once on my own and whatever nonsense my group put together also. I was really worried about loosing my A because of it.

Professor Cuan is an amazing professor. He is so easy! You NEVER use the textbook. Just be prompt and turn in assignments on time and make sure to meet the guidelines throughout the speeches and you will get an 'A' for sure! Loved his class!!

Prof. Cuan is extremely easy. I took him during the summer. goes over and over and over in detail of EXACTLY what to do during speeches and what NOT to do. Hes a bit repetitive. Super easy. Dont buy the book. you'll never use it. if youre looking for a in depth analysis of how to be a better speaker, this is NOT the class. But an easy A? yes.

He is a GREAT professor. I definately recommend him. He is very particular on tardiness and following directions. He made the speeches fun and interesting. Gave many chances for extra credit. Should you take his class? YES!! BTW, cute too, so class is easy to deal with. ;D

He was a wonderful teacher. As everyone says you do not use the book at all, so don't waste your money. He knows what he wants from his class and he expects that. Sometimes when you ask him questions he may not want to answer it just to get to what he wants to get done in class. But overall he is wonderful as a teacher.

You don't use the book, don't bother buying it. His class really helped me conquer my public speaking fear. Just follow his simple outline, make eye contact, and follow the time range and you'll be good. 4 speeches and you write a speech for your final but don't present it. The longest speeches are 3-7 minutes long. it flies when you're presenting.

Mr. Cuan lets you know exactly what he wants from you and if you follow those instructions exactly, you will get an A. He is unfailingly strict though so be warned. If you come in late, he will not repeat what he has already said and it is your loss. All in all, I enjoyed the class; we NEVER used the book though, so don't bother buying it.

Mr. Cuan is an excellent teacher. I took this class in summer because i really hate talking on the front...and he really seems to show everything soo easy.. in summer there are just 3 speeches, and small papers to do... the directions were helpful and clear... just take him...

Mr. Cuan is an excellent teacher. Before taking his class, I dreaded class presentations, but after taking his class I now view presentations with a positive outlook. I did not use the book once so do not waste the money buying it. Mr. Cuan grades generously so unless you completely ignore his advice, this will be an easy class.

He offers a lot of advice and feedback on speeches. His requirements for each assignment are crystal clear. We never used the book so don't bother buying it. Also if you don't have a presentation, some of the classes can be extremely boring. I noticed lots of people only came on days they had to present. Not a difficult class.
