Great professor! He really knows his stuff! Barely used the book. He is very laid back and loves to hear what you think. Test/Quizzes were in essay form. Take notes in class and you will do fine. Very interesting class!

Dr. Pat is very laid back, easy going, and interesting to listen to. This class was extremely interesting and somewhat fun, because a random debate could break out anytime. Don't bother with the book, we read 3 pages and discussed it. He tells you everything you need to know.

You do not need a book for this class at all. Take notes when hes talking and that is more than enough. I enjoyed the class because i find philosophy interesting. Sometimes he can be hard to listen to, but overall i learned a lot from him.

He is great at what he teaches. SN: drink something that will keep you up, because you may get a bit bored by the lectures. A few assignments and you pass. If you fail this class, maybe college might be just that hard. This course is a given A

Yes, the class if boring. All you have to do is come to class, take notes, do the 1 essay assignment, the 1 story problems assignment, and the final-and you pass w/ an A. He is very knowledgable in this topic, i just cant share his excitement-especially when i was told to purchase a book i barely had money for NOT TO EVEN USE! Wasted money.

He was my first college class and a great one it was! He really knows what he's teaching and hes very clear in his lectures. If you care to open your mind, if learning about yourself, purpose, and autonomy interests you, take this class. The focus of the class isn't in the amount of work you do, but how deep you're listening.

He is really a knowledgeable professor. The class is easy as long as you take good notes. He always says to put your own view in the papers;however,if you don;t put the words he use in his lectures, you will not receive a good grade.Attend every class and take really good notes and you will be fine.

Dont by the book. never even opened it once. our grade came from only 3 assignments. We didnt even talk about contemporary ethical problems until the last 4 weeks of class. The rest of the class was us listening to him talking about the foundation of philosophy and his movie with Richard Gere. He's very educated in his field.

The most boring class ever! Lectures were really boring!! I'm not even sure how he graded. He took forever to grade the papers. I would fall asleep in class (that's how boring he is). Not a hard class at all. Do not buy book!!! No need for it! You need to be open minded for the class!

Longest hour and fifteen minutes of your life, you get two essays tests, that is it for the semester. Very boring and dry lectures, can't relate what he is talking about to modern life. Tests are very easy because they are about your opinion, but otherwise just a very dry, boring, not-enlightening class what-so-ever.

Dr. Fitzgerald is a very good college philosophy professor. Although the foundation of his beliefs does conflict with my own, we were able to carry on very cordial and intelligent conversations about Truth. This class will force you to think about what it is that you really believe about reality and I therefore believe it is well worth your time.

Lecture based class, with little to no use for the textbook. I found his lectures to be genuinely interesting, and I plan on taking his Ethics class somewhere down the road. If you struggle with essay tests, look elsewhere.

I don't know what to say about this class but BORING and Dr. Fitz is not helpful what so ever. He gives you an assignment, rants, and seems as if he barely cares about the subject he is teaching.

Good class to take, but I found the graphics program at SCC to be a whole lot better than the TV/Video program at SCC. The TV/Video production program at SCC is lacking in to many ways to count. Other schools in the area do a whole lot better job when it comes to the TV/film/video production area than SCC does.
