Comment:
Professor McGinty extended the text through his lectures where the text left out. He was very down-to-earth and made the material enjoyable. His tests were not too hard but be sure to polish your writing for papers in his class.

Funny guy, likes contoversial issues, made some people mad a few times. Marksist but admits it. Take his class if you wanna see humans differently.

this was an intro class that shouldn't have been as hard as it was. he loves his sociology. much harder than expected but he does know what he's doing.

Comment:
McGinty's lectures are useless because he posts his notes online. His quizzes are sort of tough and the midtern is ridiculous. But the final in 2004 was really easy and the curve helped out a lot. I never went to the lectures and made an A-.

This class wasn't that bad. Most days enjoyable and interesting. We had assigned seats in a lecture hall and that was kind of annoying but it was a way to get extra credit through particpation, I would suggest getting all the extra credit you can!

only presents controversial side of most issues to get a rise out of students. tests and quizzes and TAs are ridiculous and nitpicky. made me hate sociology and I'm a major.

he makes an intro course too hard. but advice for his tests would be to study the vocab words from the text book. don't choose mcginty if you have another option for soc.

I was looking forward to Sociology, but McGinty managed to destroy any hopes I had of enjoying the class. The only way I can describe the man is as a tool. The class itself was dull and overly difficult, despite the 'intro' label. If you take Soc, do NOT take it with McGinty.

Theres a reason this class says INTRO before it. Sociology was the class i looked forward to most at the beginning of the semester, now its the one i loath the most. All you do is study vocab, no trends, its so boring, the quizzes are all short answer and fill in the blank, this class=WAY TOO HARD
