i took his math 1229 and 1225 and heres the thing. You DONT need to go to class, just do all the recommended exercises and practice exams on the math website, then you will get 80+. some of my friends got 90s. in terms of the prof, he is just terrible.

Milnes is absolutely awful. You can't understand what he says or read the chicken scratch that he writes. However, Math 030 is one of the easier first year courses if you are competent at math. It is entirely possible to ace the class and never attend a class, but Milnes will not help. Nobody goes to class... go to prep 101, it is much better.

I don't know why this guy is still teaching, he honestly should have been fired ages ago. Do yourself a favor and find a different prof, or if that's not possible, either sit in on a different class or just teach yourself from a textbook. This the only class I can honestly say will leave you stupider for attending.

The guy is hilarious in the dry/clueless old prof stereotype. However, if your looking to actually learn something in lecture good luck. In 03/04 our Wednesday class was a question period and it was incredibly ineffective. He was uninterested in assisting people after his initial explanation. The super lecture format didn't help.
