Absolutely horrible teacher. He was rude, very obnoxious, and not helpful at all. He liked to call people out and then kick them out. It was more than just policy, he really seemed like he enjoyed humiliating his students like that. I did not understand one thing in that class. It was all pretty pointless.

Class was fine. People who were kicked out were either sleeping or talking while he was lecturing about not talking... Everything is straight from the book and the slides. Most freshman complain about him being mean and hard, but this is college. It's not supposed to be hand-holding. He has completely normal expectations of an "adult" in college.

Old school professor. He doesn't like it when people talk/sleep/use their phones, and his lectures are a little dry. He definitely knows his stuff, and seems like a good enough guy, but he's more interested in instilling discipline than trying to make the class easy. It's not that hard if you read, and he just wants a little respect. Not that hard.

Thayers extremely rude, & enjoys singling out students out of his enormous lecture classes (e.g. coming in late, cell phones, talking to your neighbor, passing notes, laptop use) humiliates you & reports you to dean. ALSO, class is useless, you learn nothing. Everything on Tests comes from the book. horrible teacher.

Thayer's class was pointless. His lectures are straight from the book, he rambles and is boring. He is also incredibly mean. He sends students out of class for nothing. Stare straight ahead and don't talk if you don't want to get in trouble. Doesn't tolerate phones at all.

He makes an easy class harder than it should be. Hurricanes and Tsunamis, not the hardest topics to follow. But his structureless lectures make it hard to learn exactly what he wants you to know. Many test questions are unfair. It was nice when it was time for Thayer and Dr. Harris to swap rooms. Harris is an upgrade.

Thayer's class is very boring! The exams aren't too bad as long as you take notes in class and look over the text book. He occasionally gives curves, I guess it just depends on how good or bad your class does on the exams. But his lectures are very boring, a lot of pictures straight from the textbook, and attendance is mandatory.

the class is not hard at all. if you read the book the tests are really easy. he basically takes the book pictures and puts them on powerpoint and rambles about them. He expresses his liberal opinions constantly, and will drop you if your cell phone rings in class.

Boring except for his occasional funny story. Lectures make you want to fall asleep, reading the textbook is VITAL, and exams are so confusing! The only grades are 4 exams, 1 of which is dropped. I studied for about 4 hours for each test and my grades so far are an 88 and a 78.

Exams are tricky and are too hard for a 100 level class. Tries to be tricky on what the tests are on. Almost impossible to get an A on Thayer's tests because he covers hardly any of the tested material in class. Read and know every sentence on each page of the assigned readings because he will test on every single minute detail he can find.

An easy class if you read..However, this man is so rude and insulting. He's such a smartmouth! When he passes out tests it takes him about 15 minutes and he'll make snobby remarks about you being to slow.. Complete jerk.

He is a HORRIBLE professor. He gets on his soap-box for the first half of class. The second half, you are lucky if you learn anything. Taking his class was a waste of tuition money and time. He lacks serious ethics of teaching. He says what he wants and strongly urges you to "do as he says not as he did." Absolutely the worst professor at UNCW
